Let down by Cazorla. Was brilliant for his first 5-8 games but since the last international break (early October, was it?) he's been poor. No spark, creativity, artistry, nothing.

Same thing happens with Silva. May take him a while to adjust to the physicality of the league.

Giroud should've taken that pen. With two goals already, the confidence was there to grab a hat trick. Not worried about our shitty start quite yet. We usually have a slump, but make up for it with a run of good form. Either way it ends up with no trophies and champions league football, every season. Players come, players go, we somehow end up in 3rd/4th and the board makes money.

This slump's not as bad as previous slumps. We've received as much criticism for a 2-1 loss as we did for the 8-2 loss. After a good way through last season we were at most 10 points from the top 4 (where we turned it around and finished 3rd). That won't happen again, we'll be closer to the top of the league.

I'm pleased Arteta took the penalty. He had a poor game, a 1 in 100 for him. Yet despite it all he had the confidence and the mental strength to take the penalty. He's a character, I'm not worried about him.
Besides, Giroud hit the post when 1vs1 with the keeper. There's a high possibility he'd miss the penalty too since he's strongest with his head. If Giroud missed it would've been much worse and would've shattered his confidence. So no, I do not feel Giroud should've taken it.

It was a wrongly awarded peno anyway. Justice was made.

The real problem is that, for some reason, we can't stop giving away our leads. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Diaby is the key element lacking in this squad. Wenger needs to buy a replacement, particularly since Diaby is so injury prone.

It's his first season in England. Very very few strikers didn't have terrible first seasons in the EPL. The only ones I can think of that hit the ground running were Aguero and Torres. That's about it. Judge Podolski next year when he has a full preseason under his belt, and is on the same wavelength as the midfield. Besides, he was fucking brilliant until Gibbs got injured. Santos is a bit of a liability, and Podolski doesn't know what to do with him.

According to the papers Wenger is considering a switch to 3-5-2 for a more solid defence. Would it work?

I dont know if playing 3 at the back would work for Arsenal, especially if they play Mertersacker who is probably one of the slowest CBs in the world.
