Jovetic gone to City, can't afford Higuain or Suarez, Rooney not going to come to us. I can't see any other world class striker available for us to sign. If we can't sign Higuain we can't sign Lewandowski either.

Lewandowski is going to Bayern anyways not for sale this season besides. I was quite excited at the prospect of Higuain coming but now that it seems he is not-Arsenal-bound, I feel (once again) desillusioned...

We did this to ourselves. Penny pinching and jerking around the selling club for a few million until it's too late. Xabi Alonso was in London and ready to sign, but a disagreement over 2-3 million pounds (that Arsenal wanted to save) wasted so much time that Benitez backtracked after the Barry deal fell through. Same thing with Mata. Wasted so much time that Chelsea swooped in. Same with Alvarez: wasted months of time until Inter signed him. Same with Melo: wasted time until Juventus got him. We couldn't even close the deal on Di Maria when he was worth 6 million euros.
All we had to do was meet Madrid's asking price back in June. That's it. If he goes to Chelsea, it's our fault.

Am I the only one who thinks Arsenal don't need another striker? Giroud, Walcott, Podolski all can and want to play centrally, also have Sanogo and some other young strikers....
The only position that needs reinforcement is CB, and even that's debatable.

We're selling Gervinho, so Podolski will be in his position all season. Giroud is good, but not world class. At least 20 points we've dropped last season were due to shitty draws even though we dominated possession. A clinical finisher would immediately put us in contention for the title. It's a shame that RVP left after we finally sorted our midfield and defense, but this summer we have the chance to make things right. Money should be no object. 45 mil for Suarez and he'd be worth every penny
