Last second bargain-bin dash coming up. Yay.

Is Heskey available?

So, Arteta out? That means Arsenal are without a defensive midfielder.

Why isn't he signing anyone? They've actually got so much money they could basically sign any player they want.

They spent way too much time playing the waiting game, trying to get "bargains" in an insanely inflated market. Now Capoue is going to Spurs, Fellaini's buyout clause expired, and Gustavo doesn't want to leave Germany. We're probaby going to end up making a panic buy. Even our young DMs are already on loan, so we really have nobody to cover the position.

Yep. Don't even understand why. I'm sure there are still good defensive midfielders out there but Wenger needs to sign more than that. They're very short on center backs, only got two strikers, one of them is an injury prone 20 year old from Ligue 2 and the other one was mediocre last season.

I'm not a die hard fan but this is becoming frustrating. And pathetic.

Leaving Roma for Arsenal isn't actually outrageous. Roma is a very mediocre team that always finishes below top 5. I don't like Arsenal or calling them good but in comparison with Roma its something better..

GK: Szczesny, Fabianksi*
DF: Mertesacker, Koscielny, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Vermaelen ( back injury ) Monreal ( back ) Sagna ( ankle )
MF: Rosckiy, OX, Wilshere, Ramsey ( ankle ) Cazorla ( long flight from SA ) Arteta ( thigh, 4-6 weeks ) Diaby ( Knee ) Frimpong*, Myyaichi ( ankle )
CF: Podolski, Giroud, Walcott, Sanogo ( hamstring ) Park*, Bendtner*

* minimal first-team involvement last season

It looks always certain that Arsenal will miss out on CL football unless they do some good last minute business. I thought Liverpool had it bad but even they could top Arsenal this year.

Fixtures:
Villa - 17th
Fener - 21st
Fulham - 24th
Fener - 27th
Spurs - 1st

With such a small injury prone/young squad Arsenal are going to struggle, and fans are becoming to hate Wenger which is a real shame. I can't believe that Wenger thinks he can challenge for the title... And I think it's becoming clear who the biggest North London club will be over the next few years unless Arsenal/Wenger gets a reality check.

Gustavo to Wolfsburg confirmed this morning. It seems like this was a complete replay of the Gokhan Inler saga of 2008. Top class player for sale, but with a family already settled in that country and unwilling to uproot themselves. We really need to fire Gazidis, Law, and whatever other delegates we have conducting this failure of a transfer window. What a waste of time
