Would say ity helped Iniesta's career.

We are talking about upper body muscles. Leg muscles is completely different thing and in modern football it is a MUST to have them developed even at youth age.

We are talking about midfielders. Defenders can look skinny as Pique, can look like MMA fighter Sergio Ramos, it's up to them

As SeloBarca, we are speaking of midfielders who are supposed to control the ball and midfield area. Arthur doesn't have a big butt and muscles like Yaya Toure has.

I was talking about upper body muscles, Iniesta improved them a lot throughout the years and it helped him

Well-developed muscles doesn't make anyone a better player. Check Xavi and Iniesta's careers.

I disagree, players do short hard bursts for of activity in filed just like HIIT training, which you need to use your whole body. High impact, high-intensity runs work the player core and upper body as well as the lower body. The Olympic runners also rely on powerful swings of their muscular arms to propel themselves forward, the arms also act to stabilize the torso. You have to wonder why Olympic runners are so muscular. Well-developed muscles will help player's athleticism.

They sure don't hurt though. Can't think of a player like Busquets being worse if he was better athlete. Messi and is ribbed and he outperforms everyone. Even if you are a world class talent as Xavi and Iniesta were it wouldn't make the better but it could prevent injuries and add longevity.

Yes. Muslcles won't hurt or ruin your passing accuracy, your abilities in tackles, arial duels, you fending off defenders when passing or shooting.

Players like Iniesta were good inspite of having weak muscles.
Having weak muscles, or weak pace or weak stamina isn't actually a virtue...

As I have said, EVERYTHING is a skill:
1. technical skills
2. physical skills, pace, stamina, strength, height (for some positions)
3. IQ
4. tactical knowledge and learning
5. professionalism
6. mental strength, winning mentality, motivation, ability to adapt to new teams, clubs, countries, cultures

And of course that pace and strength won't help you if you don't have the most important footballing skills like technique, first touch, passing etc.
But on the other hand, if a player already has natural technique and passing, then adding more pace, stamina, muscles ON TOP of those natural technical skills surely won't hurt.

So:
A player with physique and without technique < player with technique but without physique
But also:
A player with technique PLUS physique > a player with technique without physique

So, we don't need to go extremes and whenever someone mentions pace, stamina, strength, height, replying: Iniesta didn't have that. Or: go watch stoke. Or: they are not MMA fighters.
But instead of having a player like Busquets with awesome technique and weak pace and muscles, why not look for some evolved Buquets with awesome technique and physique of De Bruyne, or some strength+pace of Casemiro and similar.
It doesn't need to be black and white and or:eek:r.
Players for the future can BOTH have Frenkie De Jong's technique and vision and still work a lot on improving their pace, acceleration, stamina, some muscles etc.
EVERYTHING is a skill and you can always improve even more and more in each skill irrelevant whether it is: passing, technique, vision, decisions, marking, tackling, stamina, muscles, mental strength etc.

Strongest 11 incoming like we are playing a CL Knockout game......

Yeah, I saw Valverde's quotes, ha ha. And I get we don't HAVE to rotate this early in the season, but surely it would be a good idea to acclimatise our new signings so they're ready to go when we do need them? Home to Huesca, okay so they've started quite well, but come on, if we can't rotate here when can we? Ps - I'm not ranting AT you, just to clarify, ha ha, just venting.

plus there are some players who are traveling to different continents to play 2 international friendlies so it would make sense to rotate in this game.

Coutinho didn't played against Alaves - Damn you coward EV , why the hell didn't he played . Such a pussy to bench your second best player

Gala 11 vs Huesca - Fraudverde does it again . Don't have the balls to rotate the squad . Our season is doomed

Yeah I agree.. If we can’t beat Huesca at home with rotations we don’t deserve La Liga title.
