Vidal should be refreshed now. Recently, Arthur has been showing he should play less. These next two games and Huesca are the time to split up the playing time, let both Rakitic and Busquets rest some, use Vidal, Arthur, Alena and Roberto all at least some.

None of our players is good against buses. Even Messi struggles. It's because of Valverde's completely static tactics. Singling out Arthur about this is disingenuous.

"parking bus" was the way to go vs barca since pep, it isnt on valverde, possession football doesnt work vs buses

Well, yeah, in a sense. Only areal threat and long screamers are alternative, when the low passing game fails and we don't ever go there. Still, with dynamic off the ball movement and one touch passing it's sometimes possible to break even most hardcore buses, but we don't do that either. In our current play in those kind of games everything depends on individual moments of brilliance or a fluke/own goal.

I have seen 4 occasions in the 1st half when teammates have ignored him and Arthur waved his hands (like being slightly pissed off).
Busi ignored him twice, Roberto and Mats once.

When Busi ignored him, Arthur was 2 meters away from him, virtually occupying the same position as Busi.
Of course there was no reason to pass a 2 meters short pass to him and Busi picked some other player.

Seems the high life has gotten to his head, not a coincidence that since he started to go to Paris to attend parties his performances have gone to shit.

Surprise, surprise, another Brazilian who plays well for half a season then plays like nothing. He looks FAT too.

problem is not arthur.. problem is that all of our Midf are defensive including arthur.. yet we went on and signed another one who ``takes the ball from the back``. we need a creative midfielder next to arthur.

Imo, Ev should have done the same as against Espanyol.
Arthur out, Coutinho at CAM, Malcom-Suarez-Messi in attack.

Cou is the only player besides Messi and Dembele who can create a somewhat logical pass against a parked bus.

At 2:3 Arthur was keeping possession THE SAME as how he plays when we lead 3:0.

1st half was an open match, 50:50.

We kept the ball 30 meters around their box in the 2nd half.
Before Messi, Arthur-Busi-Vidal didn't know what to do, how to create anything.
And they were either playing sidepasses like Arthur or making mistakes which led to counters like Busi.
Villareal entered like 5-6 times in our half in the 2nd half.

Sadly, they scored a goal in almost every visit to our half.

So, except for rare counters, a 2nd half was again: Barca vs bus.

And our 3 defensive minded Cms without Messi to save their ass, couldn't create anything.

My comment was about Arthur in the 2nd half.

A lot of that 62% possession was done after Arthur was subbed, in the last 20 mins. Until then, it was end to end game, with both teams playing on the counter actually.

So you actually commented on the player for the 10 mins after Villareal scored the 3rd goal and before he was subbed? Because Villareal parked the bus, so to speak, after they went in front, since they needed 3 points.

So, yea, you're right. Arthur wasn't able to break Villareal's bus in those 10 mins.

We overhyped him too soon. He still has much to learn and improve in his game. Still like him and think he`s a very good signing who`ll bounce back from this run of shitty form.
