To be honest he just gave Otemendj a taste of his own medicine.
Nice to see Arthur can dish it out as well as show the skills on the ball

That was dumb. Any competent ref gives a pen there. Ruined a fine performance with that brainfart.

-Come to Barcelona fresh off a great season with Gremio and starts off great
-Towards the second half of the season his performances fall off quite significantly
-Goes back to playing excellent with Brazil

The Valverde effect, ladies and gentlemen.

Maybe we are looking at different things, but Arthur yesterday again had 0 key passes.

In this tournament, he played 360 minutes and made 2 key passes which is 0,5 key passes per match.

Now, guys like me who said that Arthur's main flaw at Barca was= a weak attacking game and forward passes.

Now, on Copa, Arthur again plays in a double pivot position and is good in his usual skills: getting the ball out of his half and press resistance.
In the attacking third, he is again as invisible as in Barca.

And now, you are mentioning EV's effect.
Arthur at Barca=0,5 key passes per match.
Arthur at Brasil=0,5 key passes per match.

Now, if Arthur is not making any forward passes both for Barca and Brasil.
Is it then:
1. EV's effect
2. Or Arthur's effect (and just his default way of playing)?

If we will play 4231 with 4 attackers, then he and Frenkie could work fine as double pivots.
If we will play 433, then we will again have a CM in Arthur who is frozen in the attacking third.
And then, imagine playing against Getafe at home with a CM who is not even entering into the attacking third.
Not too attacking for Barca's standards...

I’m sure FDJ and Arthur are talented enough to get the ball to one of Messi , Neymar , Griezman or Dembele or whoever’s playing up front at the time

Arthur makes forward passes all the time when they can be made without giving the ball away. One of the good things about him is that, unlike Rakitic for example, he will not pass to a vulnerable teammate just so that he can register more 'forward passes'. Not all forward passes are good for the team. Only the smart ones are.

He can improve in this area but the narrative that he doesn't make any forward passes is simply false.

He's playing a bit more advanced vs Peru than usual. Doesn't stay as much in line with Casemiro as before.

Bet the cunt enjoys being part of blatant favouritism.

Hopefully Messi tells him the truth face to face and afterwards freezes him out.

Doesn’t deserve this trophy.

The fuck is this?

That was a Pen on Arthur vs Argentina but doesn't mean he's at fault for the so-called "Corruption" if you want to blame anyone blames the Brazilian FA for it.
