Arthur

Based on this I now know you don't know what you are talking about. Rakitic is about as worst as it gets at playing under pressure. If you don't think Arthur is at least a good improvement, even if not great, sorry mate, you're a lost cause.

I have to disagree. Looking historically, Rakitic best games are against tougher oppositions.

It's not about tougher opposition, it's about match-ups. Liverpool practice the worst football for Rakitic to cope with. Imo, they are the best in areas where Rakitic is the worst.

Liverpool -> masters of applying pressure and pressing traps
Rakitic -> weak when pressed and usually gives the ball according to the pressing trap desired effect. Busi not far behind.

Those two added together were a deadly combo.

Rakitic was good enough to be decisive vs Madrid. But Madrid for example play a more italian style. Italian style is great for Rakitic. Why do you think our older players, like Rakitic, Vidal, are fancied by Juve, Inter, Milan. Slower tempo, more time on the ball. Great for aging players who aren't good under pressure, but in conditions of enough time, they are good passers. Rakitic is a top passer if you give him time, and a crap passer if he is pressed.

I am not giving up on him.
I wouldn't even sell him (for now, of course).

I am just pointing to ideas of lots of members: Frenkie-Arthur are the future.
Frenkie has played 85,2% of available minutes this season.
By the end of a January, Arthur will drop to 36,5% of minutes played.
Frenkie played 233% more minutes than Arthur.

So, I am against ideas:
1. Frenkie-Arthur are the future, since Arthur has objective flaws in his game, and on top of it, he is rarely fit and has tons of off field problems
2. sell everyone ideas (Vidal, Raki). We would have only Frenkie-Busi then. I seriously can't count Puig as a realistic option, sorry.
3. and even when Arthur actually plays, he is usually dead tired after 60 minutes

So, the more realistic approach is:
1. Arthur will maybe turn into a player about whom our fans dream of, and maybe he won't.
2. if he won't reach that level, then we surely won't have Frenkie-Arthur duo
3. if he will reach this level in terms of his quality, we will still need to have at least 1 option who will always be ready to play, since Arthur will usually miss 50-60% of a season, and will never play for more than 75 minutes.

So, imo, people should slowly try to adopt those ideas while planning and writing about our future.

See the post above.
Frenkie is almost never benched due to technical reasons.
This season, two kids:
Frenkie played 85% of ALL minutes available.
Arthur will be at 36% soon.

Your ideal lineup please

Same story last season the only exception this season FDJ is here to show you don't need 3 years to adapt and play top football RELIABLY when you are a top footballer.

Lol. 1 goal and 2 assists in 24 games. Useless back-passer with no end product. Arthur is two times better offensively with 2 goals and 4 assists and he played half the games of De Jong.

Just to prove you how easy it is to discredit a player using crap arguments and selective statistic to suit your agenda if you want to.

Frenkie: meh in attack
Arthur: meh in attack

Possession:
Both awesome.

Defending:
Frenkie very good.
Arthur at a level of Coutinho.

Physique, stamina, pace:
Frenkie awesome.
Arthur horrible.

Being available for matches, injuries, professional off field behavior.
Frenkie awesome.
Arthur shit.

You have some serious man-crush on Arthur and you have turned into his biggest defender.

Please, don't compare Frenkie and Arthur in any away except in press resistance and recycling possession.

According to the stats, Arthur is the best offensive midfielder we have this season. Be consistent. Your most favorite tool to rate players shows Arthur has a very good offensive output this season.

Also, I'm obviously taking the piss on your type of arguments. To show you how crap they are and how you can use them against you without breaking a sweat.

So, show you apply the same unit for both the players you like and dislike.

According to the stats, our best offensive midfielder is down injured at the moment, and we all expect him to recover as fast as possible.

Yeah Yeah Arthur is WC offensively this is why he said ' I NEED TO IMPROVE IN THIS AREA ' after pretty much everyone said it to his face !!

With 9 ASSISTS - 4 goals in his WHOLE career including Grimeo AND Brazil NT !!

Fanboys at it's best.

By the same stats one would conclude that Rakitic was a GOD tier last season which he was not !!

I'm not hating on the guy as a Barça supporter i wish he will top form in the second half of the season while playing non sterile football

How the hell can you compare him to FDJ is mind blowing !!

Arthur: 919 minutes, 2 goals, 4 assists, 11 key passes
Vidal: 765 minutes, 5 goals, 1 assist, 10 key passes

Per minute, Vidal is again better.

So, Arthur:
1. the worst in defending
2. the worst in stamina
3. the worst in professionalism
--------------------------
4. the best with Frenkie in keeping possession
5. 2nd best in attack

I will not argue with you on the "hater" label each time someone use that i can see what IQ he have.

But i still dazzle how in 1 year and a half someone who barely played for the club is called top players !! that is called BS !

Because he clearly is talented? Injurues can happen to anyone, but he is a at a crossroad. We will see how it developes, but people here calling him shit for being injured is nonsense.

Of course no one should call him shit/flop, but calling him top player when he has not proven anything with the club yet is as much exageration as the people who calls him shit !!

By that mean why not call Dembélé a top player ? he has way more talent but 2 times the inconsistency of Arthur !
