Arthur

1. A guy will be 24 this summer.
2. He has played a total of 7-10 good matches for Barca in the last 12 Months.
And is usually injured or rusty after injuries all the time.
3. People here still call him one of the best players in the world.
4. And when anyone disagrees about this crazy overhype and delusion regarding Arthur, majority of people here say: who let these trolls in?
Or: you are just a contrarian.

Lol, a pure gold.

Not a single user claimed that Arthur did well. Most are criticising him and not grasping at straws (like he scored or is an attacking threat or did X tackles or whatever) to make him look better than he has been.
Most players are granted some time to get back to fitness coming back from a long absence. Let's do that amazing thing in his case too.

Yeah, he started well, showed plenty of promise (as well as last season) and then had his pubis issues. Shit happens. Im still convinced, but he needs to get a grip. I wont defend him religiously like some people did for Rakitic ;P

Maybe let him finish the season first before you tear him apart.

But it works both ways:
1. You tell me that my comments how he is average are premature
2. Why don't you do the same with overly positive comments, after being called the 2nd best midfielder in the world after 5 good matches per season.

Double standards.
People are biased towards a positive side.

Unreasonably optimistic posts are rarely attacked.
While if you write a harsher post, you will often see: ban this clown, ban this idiot, who let these trolls in?

Have you ever heard anyone calling for a ban when someone said: Arthur is the 2nd best midfielder in the world.
But if you'll write that his level is Ac Milan, Inter or Roma, you know what will happen.
Even though a 2nd comment is way closer to a real world, outside of Barca's bubble.

People will reply: but he showed glimpses of his talent.
So what?
So did Dumbele.
So did Neymar.
So did Rakitic at a World cup.

Glimpses of talent are just that: rare good moments and nothing else.

If someone would call him the best midifelder in the world right now he would get called out ;D

And its not just a "glimpse" of talent. He won two knockout tournaments as a key player already. Hes good. The question is how dedicated he is, how much he can improve and whether he can stay injury free or not. But mindlessly bashing him and expect perfection wont help anyone. And, unfortunately for you, he will be here for a few more years. But you will cope with that Im sure, I mean I survived freaking Rakitic post 2016.

Edit: Whats with you and Neymar? I dont want him back, but I can admit hes a great, great player. And "Dumbele" remains to be seen as well.

Two knockout tournaments in South America, not Europe.

Even a mighty Alexis Sanchez was winning Copa America titles.
Or Vidal, who struggles with a possession football.
Or Sampaoli.
Or Gabriel Gabigol Barbosa.

Even a current version of Coutinho who is not good for both Barca and Bayern, was a key player at Copa.
Even Gabriel Jesus won Copa as a starter.

By that logic, are all of these players awesome and good enough for Barca?
Or Copa America is a wild tournament, with 2 good teams, where teams play some weird run and gun kung fu type of football, which doesn't neccessarily have too many connections with European football?

I don't really get what this discussion is even about now. Like what's the conclusion? That Arthur is (also) shit? I mean yeah sure, according to the other player threads he can then get in line to be sold with all the other old, dumb or shit players Busi, Raki, Suarez, Roberto, Dembele, Semedo, Alba, Firpo, Vidal, Pique, Lenglet, Umtiti...fuck it just get rid of the whole squad

I don't think anybody here believes he is consistently delivering top class performances or something so what's the point?

I know... it's crazy. But don't pay too much attention to these things.

so 7-10 more good matches than the goalscoring threat, interception maestro, defensive workhouse, clean sheet specialist Rakitic.
