Offtopic, but now when I think about it, Robert signed these young players since he came:

Gomes 23
Denis 22
Paco 23
Digne 23
Marlon 21
Dembele 20
Mina 23

Arthur??

Umtiti

Till now, his success is 1/8 (Umtiti).
We'll see what will happen with Dembele.

In the worst case scenario, if Dembele and Arthur won't make it, Robert and his policy of signing young players will have a 1/9 success ratio in the last 2 years.
I haven't even counted Deulofeu here since he was La Masia product who returned back.

Paco and Digne were signed to be backups. They have done just fine. Mina too early to tell. You have yo think about the exp3ctations here as well. Most of these guys were not signed to be starters for us.

Another technical player. That’s what I’m talking about...

I can see Gomes and Denis leaving if/when Arthur comes. One less workhorse so I’ll be happy.

Don’t mind BBZ8800. He is just not happy that the club is signing technically gifted players again.

As Xavi has always maintained. Talent wins over physicality all the time at Barça.

Happy about that signing after watching videos on Youtube but at the end of the day, he's just another unproved brazilian.

Just like for all the other one's, we have to see how he adapts to football in Europe.
He's young and technically gifted though, which is top news. How's his defending ? Any Brazilian league amateur here to give us a reliable opinion ?

I like the option of physicality being there. Also Denis isn't a workhorse, he is a technical player but he is just shit. Gomes can be replaced with a better workhorse.

Contrary to popular belief I don’t have a problem workhorses. I have a problem with Barça having so many of them.

I know Denis is not workhorse but if Iniesta stays he will leave. Can’t have 3 players of similar profile.

I prefer Micheal Seri over this guy ... barcelona will regret not signing seri

Seri is almost 06 years older and Arthur will be a far superior player. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Arthur is not a normal player you can sign in South America. Is a potential generational talent as midfielder.

Barcelona board is 200% right to sign players like Dembele and Arthur who could serve the club for ten years.

Happy about that signing after watching videos on Youtube but at the end of the day, he's just another unproved brazilian.

His team Gremio plays heavy possesion/passung football similar to Barca. He is proved in the Libertadores. Libertadores is not in the level of the Champions League in terms of quality, but the games are much more a war and the players who can do well in the Libertadores tend to be good everywhere.

Majority of South American players that cant adapt in europe are those guys who played few months only in their local leagues, never played in continental games and some european club comes to sign them while they are cheap.
Its not the case of Arthur. He was MVP in a Libertadores final.

Just to clarify: he is not an attacking midfielder. I assume he will play as "interior" in europe; but Gremio play 4-2-3-1 and Arthur is one of the double-pivot, more like a passing DM or deep playmaker.

NTC with a Positive attitude
Happy that we have an option to bring him this summer, and we should exercise that. Seems to be a type of player all the forum has been wanting to sign since ages. Let's see if he's up to mark, or its just the Brazilian league that has made him amplify his technique.

Welcome. :barcaflag:

Technique is the same everywhere. I'll be honest I didn't see this guy play but I've heard he's good. I remember watching Neymar and Brazil and you could tell technique was there.

Then it's all about mentality. You could tell Neymar had it. If this guy does then it should work out well.
