Marlon was supposed to be the next Thiago Silva and is now in loan hell. Mina was supposed to be the best SA CB in the world and he's getting the Arda treatment. Paulinho was... well, just look at his stats over the past few months.
At some point I wonder if people will realize bossing the Brazilian league is akin to holding candy high over your head and watching a toddler desperately try to jump for it. Whether Arthur comes in the summer or in January he's going to struggle and he's going to struggle for a long time.

So what will happen with Alena then? Its fucking frustrating the club is ignoring La Masia completely. Alena should be promoted next season, not sent on loan and I think Samper also deserves a proper full season with the first team to show what he has to offer since he already returned back to Barcelona from his loan on Las Palmas.
Gomes, Vidal, Paco and Digne should gtfo permanently next season as theyre completely useless and filling squad spots from hardworking youngsters.
Im hoping Valverde realises this soon and starts giving chances to the likes of Arnaiz, Alena, Palencia and Cucu who have done well and offer way more than the horseshit players we currently have in 1st team.

1-Alena isn't a CM, he is AM who is borderline attacker too. He might develop as CM down the line but won't play that position any time soon next season
2-We should really avoid judging deals just by trends, at this rate we won't sign any player. By this we won't sign from A.Madrid,Villarreal,Seville Valencia as most recent signings from them were all flops, Arsenal players too,players from Brazil and Italy too.
Everyone is his own case, there are ways to make conclusions but it should come second to watching players and honestly most those discussing him hadn't watched more than 300 minutes of him at best
From highlights I feel he is a workhorse, seem good on defense with good workrate but playmaking is one thing that doesn't impress me from his Youtube. But as I just said I prefer to watch him before judging

There's nothing wrong with signing players from the teams you mentioned. The problem is that were signing the wrong players and overpaying for them, even some 30 year old turds who are unmotivated, lazy, injury prone and have no resale value. On top of that many of them are on ridiculously high wages and thus hard to get rid of when you give them a 5 year contract..
