No planning whatsover.
Kept Rakitic who was on verge of leaving.
Let Alena go when they knew there's uncertainty with Vidal.
All this while Arthur and his status is questionable as well.
Bunch of blind monkeys making decisions.
Loaning Alena was the right thing to do since he needs playing time. The next six months could provide us with answer if he is a player we can rely on or not. Using him every 5th game from the bench and giving him 10 or 15 minutes wouldn't do any good for him or the club not to mention his role can easily be filled with Puig.
Regarding Vidal and Rakitic. Rakitic has no offers at the moment and even if he had Raquel doesn't want to leave Spain. So the most realistic thing is to sell him back to Sevilla next summer since we refused that huge offer from PSG. Selling Vidal won't do us any harm because with or without him we won't win CL and we have enough midfielders for La Liga. IMHO it's better to think long term and sell him now than to force him staying, have an unsatisfied 33 year old player for the next 6 months and get nothing for him in summer.
People want us to make a transition from this squad but than it's a problem if we don't have enough oldies in the team. IMHO that could bring us only good. Having "only" Busi, Raki, Arthur and De Jong could mean some of our youngsters could get minutes and that's a much better thing than playing Vidal, Rakitic and Busi midfield like we did last season.
I agree with gasgas and I don't even like Eriksen. Eriksen is in his final year so we should try to sign him now with the money from Vidal. If Tottenham doesn't sell now Eriksen will go for free in summer so why shouldn't we try? He is overrated but he is for sure a much better player than Vidal in his thirties.
