He's deluded. He and Marchisio were good players, but didn't have close to the talent or time at the VERY top as Xavi, Iniesta and Busi., Pogba did well at Juve but is staggeringly overrated. Pirlo is the only player of those four on those three's level.
I watched that Juventus midfield a fair bit at the time. They were an excellent combination of energy, technical passing, shooting and tigerish work rate, but they couldn't control a game close to the Spanish three. Also, while Messi was Barca's best player by a distance, the Spanish boys proved their ability without him by winning three tournaments on the trot at international level.
Vidal, while a quality player, has always came across as a very stupid man.

It's not either/or. Messi can be the greatest player of all time and he can be backed up by possibly the best midfield of all time. It's that combination of brilliance that leads to what was the greatest club side I have personally ever seen (in my opinion) and the sheer dominance they held over other very good sides.
The team is a whole and a sum of its components. For instance, Gullit and Rijkaard being some of the best midfielders of all time doesn't make Van Basten any less one of the best strikers ever. Gerd Muller being an amazing striker doesn't detract from Beckenbauer as a libero.
You seem to think that either Messi or the midfield trio must be overrated, that one must be making the other look better - it doesn't work that way. They've both been brilliant without one another at international level. Unlike certain other players when not surrounded by great team-mates...
