If he comes that’s definitely Coutinho to LW and at best only one of Malcolm or Dembele will play.

Valverde reeks of conservatism and mediocrity.

No way he will be signed for inly 2 years! No way in hell! He wouldn’t reject Inter for that. It will be 3 or 4 years for sure!

If it’s not a loan or a short contract I will have a problem with this. As a stop gap for a year or two it’s whatever but anything more-not good.

It makes sense.
I have said the same in Gomes' thread.
Ev used Rakitic, Paulinho and Gomes last season.

He wants that type of players also, even though Gomes failed in all aspects.

Even though the forum would like to see Busi, Arthur, Thiago, Coutinho midfield, Ev and some staff probably sees those players as more or less the same profile, just like Spanish Nt team, with 5 similar midfielders.

Our interest in Rabiot was real.
And it makes sense why we want a different profile in our midfield also.

Fdj light, nice and technical.
Busi, the same.
Cou, the same.
Arthur the same.
Thiago, the same.
Denis, the same.
Alena, the same.
Rafinha, the same.
Samper, the same.

Rakitic, a different type.
Roberto, a different type, but probably used as a RB.
Vidal/Pogba/Rabiot, a different type.

Vidal, a thug, runs a lot, fights a lot, brings some blood.
We need some of that alongside our schoolboys.

Also, Vidal would fit more into a faster, direct style.

As a squad player AND with another midfield signing I’d take him for a year or two.. but none of that likely to be true.

Paulinho wasn't a regular starter , Vidal won't be as well . People act as if Ev is gonna build a team with Vidal as the nucleas. He is a solid player to have in the bench .

This is going to be one of the worst deals ever because:

(1) Pretty much everyone except BBZ agrees Vidal is bad (31 years old getting weaker, party animal, lack of discipline, bad knees)
(2) After this season when Valverde is sacked, we will have a hard time getting rid of Vidal as nobody would want him
(3) We are getting robbed by fucking Bayern to top it off

Fuck this. Valverde is ruining us.

People are obviously ignoring the fact he has potentially Vermaelen level injury problems looming coupled with his age, lack of discipline and other off the field problems.

But whatever floats your boat I guess. Could have just kept Paulinho instead.

Depressing...

We already have a B2B in the squad, his name is Sergi Roberto. I don't see how Vidal is better than Roberto right now. He was probably on of the best 3/4 years ago, now he is not. He is a player who has huge problems of discipline, struggles with alcoolism has several injures and already has 31 years old. Sergi did everything alright, refused better offers, played out of his position for a year and every time he played he did it at a very nice level but he never got from the barça side a serious opportunity. And when i talk about a serious opportunity, it's not playing sometimes as a midfielder, others as a RB then be 1 month not playing etc. He never got a real chance.

besides Sergi, what does this mean for Alena or Rafinha? Rakitic, Vidal, Coutinho, Arthur will play more regularly. Alena will be another great prospect that will never have a real opportunity.

Why does Valverde hates La masia so much?

We'll manage sell him to China for a profit once we're done with him. China love South American players

We don't. Nobody here except some Bayern fans rate him. China is not a dumping ground of bad players.

We learned our lessons from Tevez.

Because he is a poor man's Mourinho who cares about playing safe and winning at all costs and nothing else.

The deal will be confirmed today.

Interesting note: This isn't a hijack deal like Malcom. Inter apparently knew this was coming and hence why they turned their attention to Modric.

If it means Real losing Modric, then I'm all in for Vidal.

no mention of the fact that he keeps getting sent off in crucial games (like v madrid), missing key penalties in crucial games, and had a disaster class versus us in the 2015 CL final.
