What a pathetic team. They are a bunch of butchers who deliberately waste time every time they get the ball...

Atletico cant beat Barca to save their lives. I mean, beating Barca is very difficult, but not a single victory in 2 seasons, with various cup matches included? Thats just poor by a club of Atleticos standard. Even Real cant beat them once in a while, other clubs can as well. Even when they lead, they just f up with red carda and stuff, no composure at all.
They did beat us once during the Tata season iirc. But during Lucho we have 7/7 wins. But you shouldn't complain, you got Wolfsburg for christ's sake.

At least simeone doesn't cry like the players. Sure he was going crazy when torres got a red but he would have seen the replay later and known torres fucked up. Felipe luiz and torres are idiots though.

He did complain on the press conference after the game:

I hope the next ref will not be intimidated by AM's pressure. If they play dirty, I hope they get another player sent off.

Simeone with his conspiracy theories is just a sour idiot loser.
His team has actually been treated rather well by refs this CL season so far.
They got way less cards than they deserve with their overly hard and at times dirty and downright brutal play.

Football has become a joke with all this nagging, timewasting, talking crap. How can anyone in their right minds even deny it was a red card? Clear red, all day, every day.

Simeone should focus more on telling Torres he was a stupid ass that let his team down instead of "I don't dare to say what I think" or telling his bench to get up and complain to the fourth ref. Mourinho really revolutionised football. In a bad way.

While their football is similar a lot I still wouldn't compare Simeone to Mourinho when it comes to complaining and blaming anyone but himself for their losses. I still have a lot of respect for El Cholo for what he has done with Atletico but think he could and should play a lot better or nicer football with all the young offensive players he has at his disposal. Imagine what kind of football Lucho or Pep could play with players like Griezmann, Carrasco, Correa, Vietto, Koke and Saul. I don't expect Simeone to fully change his philosophy but I believe they could also be successful playing somewhat more offensive and not just leg-breaking and timewasting.

Danger Ahead

That's the thing about the effort, Simeone sees the pitch as a battlefield and instructs players to fight for each ball, so much so that they forget they have one yellow and continue with reckless tackles. Last season it was Arda against RM, now it's Torres. It's Simeone's fault really.

Jesus fuckin Christ. This team is on a mission. Call them thugs or whatever, but the intensity and passion this team displays is simply nuts.

They did everything right.
First they turned media around, everybody was reporting how Barca gets freebies by refs - how Barca actually also play dirty but nobody really notice it etc. It got to the refs head tonight no doubt.
Than they did something to the pitch. Not only water it and not bother about grass length - the ball was like glued to the pitch. Than the players started to slip and slide - almost every time Ney turned, Alves crossed or Iniesta accelerated.
They parked the deluxe buss and only countered with 2-3 players (maybe 4-5 on 2-3 occasions).
They dived like son of a bi**es!
Than they discussed, made a scene out of every foul, almost made us get into a fight or two - everything it took too so that we couldn't get into a rhythm.
Intensity, so much intensity. Fought for every god damn ball like their life depended on it - all over the place!
Luck, so much luck. We played good in the second half, we had 4-5 very good chances to score - but it just wouldn't go in. And than the PK. I'm not even mad we din't get it, it was a difficult call - but they did their homework and all that pre-game BS about us always having the refs on our side worked.

All in all; they came fu**ing prepared, brought the passion and fire. They knew how to dismantle us and how to weaken our moral and spirit. We took it 'easy' in the first half :shakeshead:
