This was their best chance to win a Champions League trophy and this will be the last time they'll ever be in a Champions League final. I don't think they'll ever come back just like Valencia before. Too bad, they have a small club mentality. Once Cholo leaves, they will get back to being a group stage UCL team or even fall back to Europa League again.

Hard to say if they will fizzle out in the future. They have been among the powerhouses of Europe over the past seasons. Depends on Cholo's replacement if he leaves, but the management of the club overall has been good. And the other big teams in outside of Spain are also beginning their "rebuilding mode".
