Messi hasnt been miles ahead of him on performance in the last year.
These excuses are just lame.
No one accepted the 'Messi has best ever team mates' argument from Ronaldo fans a few years ago. So lets not get hypocritical.

Sorry, I really don't agree. Messi has been on another level for years. A level CR7 will never reach.

I think the fact that Messi didn't win anything (save for the World Cup Golden Ball) hugely swayed the race in Ronaldo's favor. On paper they had similar stats (which I'm not even sure they did at the time of voting, considering voting ended before Messi broke the scoring record (IIRC) and scored several hattricks), but Ronaldo had trophies. And Neuer was, to be honest, the hipster third choice that was never really going to win the Balon d'Or anyway. So congrats to Ronaldo, may he enjoy this year's Balon d'Or because the next belongs to Messi.

Wrong. In Messi's best goalscoring year Ozil and Di Maria assisted more of Ronaldo's goals than Xavi and Iniesta did Messi's that's why it was proven wrong. The tactics/coach/midfield of our current Barca team does nothing to help Messi. RM's ability to create space for Ronaldo is way ahead of ours for Messi..

And I agree with JamDav there.
Something that happens rarely but I think he's right when he says people are making up excuses.
Ronaldo was better than Messi last year and won trophies.

He said that before when messi won it no one accepted the excuses made upf rom Ronaldo's fans when they said Messi had better teammates.
Now Messi's fans are doing the same.

I disagree. Ronaldo and Messi were similar last year. But the tiebreaker was the 4 trophies that Ronaldo won with Real.

Sorry but that is garbage.
Ozil and Di Maria may have given Ronaldo more assists those seasons but they were not better team mates than Xavi/Iniesta. Unless you think Cesc has been easier for Messi to play with than Xavi/Iniesta ever were.

I never said they were far from each other in performances. But to me Ronaldo had a better year bare the WC.

I know... that argument was foiled when stats showed that Ozil and Di Maria assisted more of Ronaldo's goals in 2012 than Xavi/Iniesta did for Messi.
