No it wasnt as no one ever thought Di Maria/Ozil were better team mated than Xavi/Iniesta.

Ozil and Di Maria may have given Ronaldo more assists those seasons but they were not better team mates than Xavi/Iniesta. Unless you think Cesc has been easier for Messi to play with than Xavi/Iniesta ever were.

Cesc? What you on about? Ronaldo fans claimed Messi is only good because Xavi and Iniesta assist him... That argument was proven wrong. This current Barca midfield is non existent in attack. It's not an excuse it's a fact if you watch every game. (Bar the atletico game and a couple more games)

Ronaldo has a better year than messi? Yeah in team trophies and statistically. But when you compare both the players playing there is no doubt that leo is just a better footballer even last year. Real and Barca came head to head twice last season even with better team ronaldo failed to impact the game in any way. Ronaldo's impact on game is good (he is very efficient) but no where near messi right now. Messi drives barca, he needs to put in top game for barca to win. Ronaldo has a team working for him while messi is working for a team. That is how i look at it, it was not always like this before. Xavi and Iniesta used to help a lot but since 2012 no one is helping leo. I hope this year it will be different. Neymar and Suarez should help messi reach top again.

You are basing everything on assists and that making it that Ozil/Di Maria were a bigger benefit to Ronaldo than Xavi/Iniesta were to Messi.

So why does he deserve it so much despite a us president like pr campaign?

i bet winning the Ballon d'Or means more to him than winning the CL because it's all about him.

when fit Messi is the best individual player on the planet, the most skillful, the most potent, devastating goal scorer around but he's also the best playmaker. he's a better creative midfielder than top class players who specialise in that role (for example - David Silva).

by the time Leo retires he'll be the all time leader for goals & assists in both La Liga & CL and noone will be close.

Well his campaign was superior to anyone else's. this guy got an entire stadium to wear ronaldo masks, got florentino to make the right calls. Everyday they kept talking about how he "deserved" to win it. at this point madrid own the media and this bdor is just a fruit of their corruption and power.
