Barca draws Atletico de Madrid in CL quarters!

Atletico is good but their offense is terrible compared to 13-14 and 14-15. On the flip side, Oblak has been in absolute stunning form this year. I fully expect him to have the game of his life vs us.

A big mistake that we did both times against them this season was to let them score first. That's when they really fucking park the bus. Luckily bailed out by a Neymar FK and Messi magic, but for God's sake, don't let them score first at the Camp Nou.

Never have been so sure in our team, not even in Peps time. Actually, back then I was scared shitless of Chelsea and likes. Not now, we are beating them convincingly. 2-0 at home and 2-1 and Calderon. No body can defend from MSN plague when it matters.

Disappointing to see most neutrals predicting Atleti to win the tie..based on their defense

To be fair, it's the one team in the CL that could stop Barca's strengths.

If they play the highly aggressive and bus-parking football and nick a lucky goal from a set-piece or something to put us on the brink, then we would be in trouble.

It's not an unrealistic scenario to imagine.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
I just checked the stats in our games with atleti in the last 2 seasons.
The score is 12-5 in goals in 6 games, 4 in the league and 2 in copa.
The wins are all for us, 6 games 6 wins for barca.

*we average 2 goals per game against them and they average less than 1.

Barcelona will be favored against any side, this is the reality. Atletico is a tough opponent for all the obvious reasons and even with the mental edge, they have never demonstrated a lack of belief in their ability to take the game to Barca. Truth is I was curious to see Simeone vs Pep - would've been a tactical showcase rather than the dogfight we're in for

Looking forward to Messi against Filipe et al and in general MSN do extremely well against Simeone's men - it's significantly in our favor but as I said before, will come at a cost

The schedule is hard, but the first 3 games are the most important by far, if we beat Villarreal and RM or even get 4 points we can afford to rest players against Sociedad and Atletico depending on the result of the first leg. I'd go all out attack and try to beat them 3-0... Easier said than done though. Im still confident!

Imagine if we come out of that entire run of games with wins and continuing the streak. :lucho:

If we get past Atletico, I want Bayern in the semis. Nothing more I want to do than pulverize that joke of a defense they have.

For any socis, just a note to say tickets for the home game (only for members without season tickets) are going on sale in a few minutes (16:00 Barcelona time).
