Barca draws Man City

I'm just annoyed now that they'll realise they're very average against teams that know what they're doing. And gladly shut up shop against us instead of playing their fancy dan "all conquering open attacking football".

Only thing, IMO, to be drawn from that impressive performance last night is that Fernandinho & Kun being out definitely helps Barcelona...We don't have the personnel to pull a Mou like Chelsea did last night...Matic, in particular, was the sort of box to box midfielder that allowed Hazard to show his quality - qualities, I might add, we haven't seen from Iniesta or Xavi enough this season...Chelsea played fast, both in terms of the counter and building their attacks from the back...It was a very complete performance

Yaya played great but could not influence the match enough without the protection of Fernandinho which should help us in the tie

But in the bigger picture, I feel like you could see a lot of the deficiencies this current team has in terms of defense, pressure throughout the pitch and their speed of play...There's a lot of ground to be covered if there's any hope of winning CL

I don't think last night's game is an big indicator of our match-up with them.Chelsea has three absolute monsters defensively in Ivanovic,Terry and Cahill while Barca has none.A 2010/11 Barca with the magnificent Abidal,a pillar in Pique and a near prime Puyol, would have had little problems with this City team. But a nonchalant Pique, mediocre Alba/Alves and Mascherano are not going to cut it.If we beat them,we're going to beat them by hiding the ball from them, using our chances and being smart.

If we try to rely on our defense like Chelsea did yesterday in the last 20 minutes,we're not going to fare very well.Every corner/free kick is going to be a danger.

Alves - Bartra - Pique - Alba
Mascherano - Busquets
------- Iniesta -------
Alexis - Messi - Neymar

It should be the starting eleven at Etihad.

It should be the starting eleven at Etihad.

It should be this, (similar to pep starting keita in away games), but sadly won't happen. One of the few tactical variations this team has, but it's been forgotten since Keita and Pep left.
