Barca pre-season 2019

De Jong just moves very well anywhere on the pitch.

Edit: De Jong-Busquets-Rakitic should be our midfield at the start of the season.

Rakitic with that fuck up when he didnt pass to firpo and we almost conceded on the counter is what frightens me the most. Bbzs scoring midlefielder lmao. I hope there comes an offer from anybody for 50m

Dembele and De Jong are both looking essential. Ruiz looks like he is more able to help than anyone else from Barca B. What's the deal with Arthur and Vidal, surely they have to get some minutes this pre-season? Coutinho must be gone for sure.

Busquets and Rakitic should only play together in the Copa del rey.

I disagree. At least at the start of the season they are our best choice (regarding fitness etc). But hopefully the Busquets-Rakitic combo gets broken up as the season progresses.

Coutinho is gone or hasn't played a minute.
Arthur hasn't played yet.
Vidal hasn't played yet.

Only Raki and Frenkie played all matches with Raki playing more minutes.
And now, Busi is playing also.

Other options are Puig, Roberto and Rafinha.

So, in this moment, we will probably start a season with Busi, Raki, Frenkie.
Unless if they sell Raki.

Then Busi, Frenkie, Roberto/Rafinha.

Puig has been the best so far, followed by De Jong imo.
I WOULD like to see a De Jong, Arthur, Puig midfield once, but i dont know if they are ready for that, and Puig is not the best in defence.
Although, a donkey with broken legs will move more than Busquetes and Rakitic does and makes better passes so maybe it would still be better.

Smells to me like the manager wants an excuse to start with Rakitic and Busi in midfield next to Frenkie. Very convenient that competition for them is supposedly not fit enough to play in preseason after being very sharp a month ago at Copa America. Suarez who also played at the Copa is fresh as a daisy it seems.

Isn't preseason meant to help players reach match fitness in the first place?

My man Valverde will only give Puig minutes in the Copa against some low tiers opponents.

He will ruin this kid.

Loan him to a midtable LA Liga side. He's clearly to good for playing at Barca B for another season.

Over the last 4 or 5 years we have deteriorated into this slow, lethargic, immobile and chaotic "system" and Valverde's lack of tactics and a clear plan made it more so.

This.
All the games are looking more and more like a piton that slowly chokes the prey than some sharp fast deadly predator.

I don't want to sleep over the game. I want to enjoy it.
EV has no f* clue. He just waits for an opponent to make some error or Messi to do goat-nes.

Performance wise, before we were deadly from the start, you could see players running riot and trying to solve the match in the first half and then in the second half controlling the tempo and 'rest' more.

With ev, we are 'warming up' in the first half and then in second half begin to play while we are already in deficit, waste more energy ofcourse, with this core of 30+ year olds + messipendencia. Its a mentality thing, if those players could go 'out for blood' from first minute, that would change the outcome in the cl ko away matches for sure.

I would never forget spalletti press when he told that he cant believe what barca players pre match rituals are

That says a lot, mentally and physically we cant be in the game from first minute when those players take cl games like a sunday picnic game with friends. Its disgusting

Maybe we can't physically go 100% anymore? We have very old roster.
