Quality or depth in midfield is not a problem. Availability of these players is. Every midfielder besides Casado (for now) has some pretty serious injury concerns.

That's why I would have liked to keep Gundo around. He was durable. But he was overplayed last season and would maybe start to get injured this season too so was right to move on from him, who knows.

Ofc I'm just talking from a pure squad building perspective and not taking finances (his big contract clearly played a big role in club's decision to part ways with him) into account here.
