Barca Transfers and Rumors

Usually both parties deny any deal before it's done.. But since Alcacer has 80M buy-out clause I highly doubt he will be signed..

Well this is Peter Lim we are talking about.

Cadena Ser and Cope, said he secretly negotiated with Barto and Robert for Gomes without some of the other Valencia Board members knowing about it. Obviously Gomes, would have to give the green light for that to happen as well so we signed him.

I think he tried to do the same with Alcacer. But he probably "Froze" the deal due to the bad backlash from the fans if he did decided to do it. considering he's the Captain and came through their Youth ranks they would've probably burnt down the Mestalla if he was sold.

Not ever going to bother to pay attention to Sport or MD for awhile.

"It's a done deal."

Idiots.

Problem is we don't have a CF to rest Suarez or replace him. Alcacer is exactly that. Messi at CF doesn't work for me. Tata Martino tried that and it failed massively. He just lacks the combative side of Suarez. To take Messi from the right and play him at no9 is a bad idea for me. I'd rather have Neymar - Alcacer - Messi while Suarez is out than something like Neymar - Messi - Rafinha.

Alcacer makes sense for us, even at 40m. But it doesn't make sense for Valencia and especially for the player himself. If he's willing to come and help knowing he won't play the key games for quite a while at Barca, then I'm happy with this transfer. Alcacer is probably the best player we can realistically buy as the 4th forward.

Paco Alcacer is more of a scorer than both Arda and Denis. And quite clearly. He's a scorer. The others two you mentioned are not.

I know they're not scorers. But Messi and Neymar are. In the rare event of Suarez missing, they could do the job. As Suarez and Neymar did when Messi was injured. It's unlikely Paco will sign now, anyway.

There were times last season and the one before that MSN didn't score in games. mostly due to terrible luck, they couldn't score, whenever that happened we were stuck as they are our main source of goals . In a situation like that , you would have Enrique replace Ney or Suarez with Denis , Arda or even Munir? Paco is a proven LaLiga goalscorer and would be perfect for those situations.
People always say players aren't for sale until they leave a week later. Same happened to Pogba his window, Juve kept saying he was going to stay till they started to change thier tune. They do this so later they could say 'the player pushed for the move, remember when I said he wasn't for sale? I clearly didn't want him to leave '
I won't lose hope yet

So now what? Are we pushing for a move with Paco Alcácer (which means the player should force a move) or are we looking at other strikers?

By the way, there's still no confirmation of the deal broken down by the trustworthy media like Gerard Romero or Catalunya Radio. There's only some information provided by the Sport/MD of Valencia; Superdeporte. Of course a Valencia board member said that he's not for sale at penya event, but those very same board members were excluded from the negotiations with André Gomes. Peter Lim does what he wants; the deal on Paco is not entirely off. It could still happen, but I'm a lot less excited than last night. I'd rather have Paco than Luan and Gabigol; Mario Gómez would still be the best option (value for money on the short term).

MD claiming Bravo's entourage saying his move to City is close. Probably bull, but well yeah. Putting it here anyway.

If theirs any truth to it I wonder if Lucho told him his role for this coming season? going by that tidbit I'm guessing he didn't like it.

Don't know what to believe these days. Pep benching Hart was a big move though, so won't be surprised if City want to sign Bravo or ter Stegen, but they're linked to Rui Patricio too.

And the season starts very soon.

Perhaps the meeting with Valencia in fact was for Diego Alves and not Paco? But again it really doesn't make sense for Diego Alves to come here when he could become Brazil's starter.

Diego Alves, is way to good to sit on the bench and only be a backup. Unless he's willing to do that in order to win trophies, I just don't understand why he would want to be a bench warmer.

Perhaps Lucho is gonna give the league to Diego Alves now :troll:

In seriousness I think Bravo, had a personal agreement with Pep and City for awhile now and was waiting to see what Lucho was going to do. I reckon he got the news and he didn't like it so he's pushing for a move.

Well Diego Alves has been on the cusp of playing for Brazil for years now and it hasn't really happened for him. Realistically speaking he'll probably never get it no matter how well he plays for Valencia. But if he comes here and plays Copa for us his payday will likely see a dramatic boost, not to mention he'll win trophies and will see a more consistent game day win bonus.
