Luis Enrique: "Signings? There are players will arrive and I also think players will leave."

Real Madrid are loaning their players left and right (Jesús Vallejo to Eintracht Frankfurt, Moyoral to Wolfsburg and Odegaard reportedly to Rennes), why are we selling ours with shabby buy-back options (like the one for Halilovic which is only good for two years)? There is always the risk of a player not wanting to return, also there could be rather lengthy negotiations like we did with Denis Suarez earlier this summer. What's the benefit of the latter option anyway?

The main benefit of it is playing time, that the players get at their new club. Managers seem to not be very enthusiastic about giving loaned players, who they'll know will be there only for the one season, as much playing time as if there are in the club permanently, at least for the time being. We saw that shit happening with both Deulofeu and Denis, when they were with Sevilla. Then Denis was actually sold to Villareal, and he suddenly started playing regularly there.

Thats not an argument for loan vs buy-back.

It's Sevilla AGAIN

It's different this time.. Vietto wanted to play regulary while Alves doesn't mind being second GK.. And to be honest it's better to be second GK at Barca than Valencia.. The bats are shit, won't win anything and they don't even play in Europe.. At Barca at least he will win something.. As I said I'd like to see Munir staying but a loan will be good for him.. He will play regulary, get some experiences.. He is Barca material but nobody can make a progress without playing..

And how much money has Lim invested in Valencia? If he has to sell because of FFP thats not Lim's fault.

It's not only about how much money he invested. Lim and his advisor Mendes made so many bad decisions last season. The departure of Otamendi without proper replacement, relying on the third choice GK when the other two keepers were injured, hiring Gary Neville as a coach just cuz he sold him his stake in Salford City...etc. Fans won't show up when thier team lose half dozen goals to Barcelona.

Such a great memory. We really put old Gary through 7 circles of hell with that thrashing. :)

It's still kind of sad to see Valencia end up the way they are, even if we are benefiting tremendously from it.

Tbf, Otamendi was replaced by Abdennour, who was also linked a lot to us. Noone really knew he'd be a kitty-cat, crying about scratches and overall being a shit defender. Maybe he just needs another season  iirc, some, including me I think, said that he'd be a perfect CB for us. Life.

Their 3rd choice gk was pretty damn good.

Gary Neville is the main mistake.

But they f-ed up other transfers too - Negredo and Rodrigo were both for a combined fee of ca 60 million EUR. Rodrigo is still with the team but Negredo got loaned out to Middlesbrough.

They hoped Danilo would work out at DM, but was one of their worst performers according to Valencias fans.

If we look at their transfers for the last few seasons, they've sold a few players for big fees, but they've actually spent more money than gained in the transfermarket and now they finished 12th, didn't get much money from the league, and didn't get to Europe which is another big financial blow.

That club is so screwed from the top.
