Whats the point of Goretzka now? Wasnt he supposed to be the cheap box-to-box alternative last summer? Arthur is a passer, but I'd pass on him for 50m. That price is insane when he wasnt even in the Team of the Season this year (Hernanes was the best midfielder). I watched him twice and its difficult to rate him. I see him more as a Lucas Leiva type and for 50m there isnt real value in such a gamble.

Don't think he's the same as Lucas leiva. Lucas was one of the biggest flops in Brazil history Arthur defenatly doesn't look that way.

Obviously not one of the biggest flops in Brazilian history when he came on the cheap and has played for more than 10 years in Liverpool and still play in Europe. Far from our level of course but lets not exaggerate. I also dont know what you mean by Arthur not looking like Lucas Leiva. In every way he looks like him. They even come from the same team, Lucas got the best player in the league award, and Gremio wants him back as Arthur is not likely to stay.

Goretzka or Arthur?

Take your pick.

Bayern links saying they've as good as signed Goretzka !!

Also reports that Jose has supposedly demanded they get Greizman NOW given their current situation and the fans unrest !

All points to us getting Coutinho very soon ?!?

What I mean is that Arthur doesn't resemble leivas style of play at all. He seems to be a promising young player with lots of potential. It doesn't matter that they both came out of the same club different player different age. For his cost I would take a chance on Arthur he just fits our style perfectly where Lucas would never. Oh and I can assure u I'm not the only one that thinks Leiva was a flop I know a lot of Liverpool fans who would say the same.

Different age? Leiva was what? 20 when he got the best player in the league award? Arthur is 21. Their style of play is often compared, not only because they come from the same club, are both central midfielders and were the same age. You claimed Leiva was one of the biggest flops in Brazilian history. Thats a far cry from claiming that you know Liverpool fans who think he was a flop. There is very little to suggest that Arthur would be a more successful player than Lucas was in Europe. He might be, but 50m is an insane price tag for such a gamble.

Leiva was nowhere near one of the biggets flops to come out of Brazil and was decent enough player for Liverpool.

Dont think he and Arthur look much alike from what seen of Arthur.

Not saying he was the biggest Brazilian flop ever just saying he was a flop in a lot of Liverpool fan's eyes. He was a decent plus player nothing more and yes i watched him play even before he moved to Liverpool so im not only basing this on "what i think Liverpool fans say about him". Arthur is a different player altogether yes there both midfielders but Arthur is a playmaker and attack builder something in the role of Xavi. Leiva was nowhere near that level. And yes I think Arthur will fit Barcelona. And with the prices these days heck even 50M don't seem that much anymore.

Most Liverpool fans seemed happy with Lucas and wishing him well when left for service to club.

Was not this feeling that he was a huge flop amongst majority of fans.

Thats correct to my mind . He filled in where needed in midfield and even central defence as I recall

I am sure clubs say shit like this all the time to make it seem like got one up on another club.

Or it could be it would be too difficult for Goretzka for remainder of season if admitted going to Bayern.

Feels like all been done and dusted for a while that he will end up at Bayern.

The problem is that good squad players are now paid like phenomenal players, like new Maradona-Messi-Pele.
Coutinho should be the new Iniesta ? 160mio ?
Dembele for 150mio ? it doesn't seem that we are so bad without him...
We should have started thinking and looking around to find Iniesta replacement some years ago, with some vision and plans, not brainless as now, he didn't suddenly become 34 y.o.
Let be honest, 150mio + 160mio(?) for Dembele and Coutinho.... 310mio !

Heynckes said to german newspaper Kicker that Barcelona is still in the race to sign Goretzka, according to his manager.

Don't believe this, he's a done deal for Bayern, they just won't officially confirmed for few more weeks. Other clubs could only officially start to negotiate with Goretzka yesterday and Bayern will let some time pass so they could say negotiations were done in January but in reality they probably already have a deal in place since last summer.
