Didn't you want us to buy Griezmann?

When did that change?

Who would you go for in the summer?

I would rather have Griezz than not have him.
But, in numbers, this is my estimation:

2018:
Our plan A: is strong 80/100
Our plan B: is strong 0/100

With Griezmann:
Our Plan A: will be strong 85/100
Our plan B: is still at 0/100

So, we will be stronger than now, but we will still be equally as onedimensional and easy to close down in a CL.

not saying this in a sarcastic way, genuinely interested, WHO would you buy out of the available players?

I'd like a pure #9 but I dont know who we could go for right now, maybe the World cup will unearth a gem

If we want a starter, we can't buy anyone since we already have Messi, Dembele, Luis and Griezz for 3 attacking spots.
For a Plan B, there are lots of 28-29-30-31 years old experienced Cfs out there.

So, for a plan A, we are screwed as long Messi will play a free role and as long as we have Suarez.

-------------MaTS
Semedo-Pique-Umtiti-Alba
------------Busi-???
-----------Coutinho
Griezmann-Messi-Dembele

the ??? I'm not sure who we go for but someone with an engine. mark my words, if we go into next season with Busi, Coutinho and Raki in midfield, poor Busi will be left totally exposed.

Suarez can be a bench/impact sub, I love the guy but being realistic he cannot start next season.

We could all wish that would happen, but Suarez WONT be benched, it just wont happen.
Benching Suarez is pretty much like benching Messi, they are so close now that they are pretty much one unit.
You saw in Classico, when Suarez got tackled, Messi went revengemode and took a deliberate yellow card, thats how close they are.
Its crap, but were pretty much stuck with Suarez.

What do you guys think about patrick shick? I mean, he's a striker/am with pretty good ball control from what i saw in couple of games, especially against liverpool in rome. Plus he is young prospect(22 yrs?) with 1.85 m(impressive ball control for that height) He could be good backup and plan b in those cl knockout stages..

According to Oscar Grau (Barca CEO) with Iniesta leaving and some possible other mids leaving we will go for another Midfielder along with Arthur.

Need to go for Eriksen and that way we don't even need to splash 100 mil on Griezmann, would rather see it spent on Eriksen, and play the attack like it was tonight against Villarreal...we look much more fluid with both Coutinho and Dembele actually running and playing defense too, not to mention having the pace a winger needs to have for attacking. And so that Messi is the only one, who doesn't need to play defense which is how it should be. Tired of watching Suarez being sluggish on the wing, when he clearly isn't made to play there, he's a pure 9, he's not Villa who could play on the wing equally as good. And us defending with only 8 players, while Suarez and Messi both just walk casually.

We clearly aren't gonna witness Messi going back to RW ever again (probably more likely that he moves even further back into midfield for his last season or two here), but until then he'll play in the middle of the attack, and since that's Suarez's best position too, we need to sacrifice one of them, and between choosing Messi or Suarez to be benched, the latter is of course a no brainer. He can still play some games as a starter, but if all players are fit and ready, i would start Coutinho-Messi-Dembele attack everytime. Suarez can always come off the bench, even to rest Messi in the middle more often if we have a big lead until then, as they are both 31 and won't be capable of playing every match for the whole 90 minutes sooner than later. While if we're trailing, he can sub for one of the midfielders as the 'real striker impact sub' with Coutinho moving back to LCM and thus the formation being more attacking.

While in midfield, we would still have a great number of options with Eriksen and Arthur coming in for either CM spot, while Alena also being promoted and can play there, along with Rakitić and maybe Paulinho. Not to mention Coutinho and Sergi Roberto being able to play there if necessary. While Alena and possibly Denis, if he stays, can rotate for Dembele and Coutinho on the wings respectively too. We can sell Gomes, Vidal and Rafinha.

So we'd have:

CDM: Busquets, Samper?, Rakitić
RCM: Rakitić, Arthur, Sergi Roberto?
LCM: Eriksen, Paulinho, Alena?, Coutinho?

RW: Dembele, Alena
LW: Coutinho, Denis? Arnaiz?

We could maybe even afford to sell Denis in this case as well, as Arnaiz could play those few games on LW instead, if he was promoted, while we'd be stacked in midfield with or without Denis anyway. We could become pretty thin on LW, if/when Coutinho becomes injured though, so maybe Denis staying anyway wouldn't be the worst idea, but i'm writing this in the hope and expectation that Coutinho (and Dembele) would stay fit most of the time, plus Arnaiz and Alena could take their chances pretty well too, if they were to play a few games in a row that way.

If we do spend big on a midfielder, are there any indications as to who it would be? I'd love it if we could sign Griezmann along with a player like Eriksen in midfield. Maybe if we sold Suarez, Alcacer, Gomes, Rafinha, and Deulofeu we'd be able to afford it.

We could then have a lineup like this for next season

MATS

Semedo/Roberto
Pique
Umtiti
Alba

Rakitic/Eriksen
Busquets
Coutinho/Eriksen

Griezmann/Dembele
Messi
Dembele/Coutinho
