Eriksen wont offer anything we dont have
Thiago and Pjanic are closing in on 30.
Thiago didnt impress in Barcelona, is made of glass, and BM wants to get rid of him.

Thiago has just turned 27...i.e. about to his prime years as a CM

I don’t agree that he didn’t impress at Barca either. His minutes were cut because of Fabregas (who was always a pointless buy in my opinion). This combined with a short-sighted Tito and ridiculous buy out clause led him to follow Pep to Bayern. By general consensus his departure was considered a mistake by the fan base. It was negligent to say the least.

It wasent a misstake to let him go.
It was a misstake to let him go for pretty much free.

Fix the midfield first, then worry about the attack...

Exactly. If we're not gonna sell Suarez, we should at least give him the best possible conditions (thus a world class midfield behind to supply him again) to recapture that deadly form and once again become the best #9 out there. Then if he still doesn't deliver and push comes to shove, we can always put Coutinho up front and Suarez on the bench - super sub. Having the manager with balls to do that, if it comes to this, it's a whole other matter though.

There was a long list of midfielders who left Barca. The overriding reason was clear: Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets. Thiago would have been an idiot to kill his career by continuing to play behind those three during his developing years. For Thiago, another big factor was that he just did not fit the 4-3-3 very well. He was excellent in the 3-4-3, but Pep usually went 4-3-3. Now, it did look like a big screwup to have him leave so cheaply, but he did have to go. The team was definitely right to stay with Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets.

Suarez had 32 goals last season. He's not going anywhere, and he's going to play big minutes next season. I doubt any other forward in the world could come into this team and score that many goals next season. Messi loves him, Suarez makes his permanent home in Barca. And most importantly, he has not bitten anyone since he arrived.

according to Florent Torchut, he heard for a good source in Barcelona that with the arrival of Abidal, another french player will come as well. Either Griez,Lenglet or Lemar.

Apparently Barto is fed up with the transfers and wants to go back to LA Masia. Sport had a quote where Abidal said he wants to promote the youngsters.

Abidal is an unknown quantity. Could go either way.

Yes, he will get some goodwill from the start, but he has to prove himself by making few, but class signings.

As others said - If this ends up convincing Mbappe in 4 years, then it's quite worth (unless he really shit his pants in the mean time).

A little french Bias wouldn't Hurt our transfer-policy but right now we have No idea If Abidal is even qualified to do the job..

According to MD Abidal likes Thilo Kehrer. He's 21, CB but can also play other positions and his contract with Schalke expires in 2019. I think he was already linked to us before.

Could be just BS rumour but it's probably still worth to keep an eye on him.
