Barca Transfers and Rumors

If we bring in a 35 year old (He'll be 35 by the time he comes if next summer is really when he joins) for backup RB our problems won't really be resolved. For a backup role you don't exactly have to be exceptional. I'd give Palencia a game or two and see how he does, the kid is really hard working even if he's not Dani Alves's regen and should deserve at least one chance to stake a claim with Lucho.

If he were to come, it'd be now, as a free agent.

Except the rumor is that we will bring him now as he will be free agent if his contract is terminated.

Sounds ridiculous tbh.

Even if we were to sign him on a free, why didn't we sell Vidal in the window? There is some speculation that Vidal put in a transfer request as well.

The whole thing is a goddamn mess.

If the rumours are true, which wouldn't be hard to imagine tbh considering the issues that led to him being benched last season. But with Roberto clearly ahead of him in the starting XI, Aleix looking to move would be understandable. Good luck recovering much of his fee though.

I see perhaps the winter window being a good opportunity should a destination present itself but an adequate backup would be needed else we will have to platoon Digne which isn't ideal

Gabriel Jesus would've been a 1000 times better signing than Alcacer, don't know what Enrique was thinking

Jesus wanted to go to City. Simple.

Perhaps but I think it would've been foolish from the board to spend as much as it would have taken to get a 19 year old prospect. Then again, it is similar money to Paco.

If the goal was an immediate impact player, couldn't say that with much certainty as far as Gabriel is concerned. The potential is there and I would've welcomed a player of his profile but it would've been a luxury buy

According to Francesc Aguilar, due to the price and Lucho only seeing Roberto as his number 1 RB choice we are no longer considering Bellerin and Florenzi,De Sciglio,Cancelo are also no longer being considered for the same reasons.

Aguilar mentions Robert favors a younger RB to rotate with Roberto and has been looking at players like Adama Traoré and Almany Touré from Monaco. but older vets like Srna and Lichtsteiner could be options as well.

But it all depends if Lucho decides to let Vidal go.

I wonder if Luchos favours a youngster or an oldie

Sign Srna on a free transfer. Vidal bench or RW sub in some games we lead by a minimum of 4 goals.

Or use a Barca B player.
