Barca Transfers and Rumors

Keita will cost 70-80m Euros.
If you are not 100% sure that you need him, you can't splash that much on him.

I would rather buy no one than splashing 70-80m for someone just to buy someone.

If we can't buy anyone, we should just buy a cheap Rb and play a season with a current squad.
Then in the next summer, we'll have 200m to spend and we can spend big then, either on Verratti or on Dembele or on some player whom we really need. And we will get some answers by then about a longterm future of Neymar, Gomes, Denis, Rakitic, Iniesta, Paco, Digne, Vidal etc

In this moment, it seems that both a board and a coach don't know whom they need.
They are not ready to sell some of starters but also, they don't know HOW to strengthen a team currently.
They wanted Verratti and Belle, but outside of those two, they don't have any ideas.
We are stuck in a zone where we don't know whether we should continue with current starters or start a new era.

Imo, let's move on, buy a rb and play a new season with a current team.
I mean, it is not as if we'll win anything either way, until a major and longterm planned overhaul.

Why would we go cheap on RB? We need a proper RB more than anything. Cheap shitty solution won't solve anything we are FC Barca not FC Getafe! What would some average RB solve?

And good players are always needed, one of the reason we are having midfield problems is that we never react on time.

We desperately need improvement in our midfield. This midfield can not go like this for another year, so we need to sell some trash and buy at least one good midfielder this summer. If Verratti is unavailable we have to find another player who is good enough. Keita could also be unavailable next summer so if you can catch good prospect now you do it immediately. Look at Real example.

We can still compete at top level even with this current team. That is not a issue at all. However look at where we are in terms of transfers and planning for a bright future. This is not how a top level club act.

THIS!

It's not all about what we need now, we need to start thinking 2-3 years ahead!!! Because of short term thinking we are in this shitty position without a proper CM player.

Bayern is worse than us. They are a team who gave Kross as a gift to Real, just because they thought that he didn't deserve 13 m euros, signed finished Alonso with 13 m euros a year wage and started him for 3 years. This example show us how poor Bayern is managed.

it's clear both board are he worst in world football today.

Thanks to our Messi. yet we are losing advantage. We have the best player in the last century yet we didn't take advantage of it fully. That's the case. What will happen to us when Messi will retire?

we can sign many players who can improve us, however we are after Paulinho. this say it all.

Desperation doesn't even begin to sum up our club's current state. Desperation is too nice of a word. Maybe abominable? How did we reach this point? How could a club filled with stars be run by a board full of clueless jackasses?

They got Thiago as a gift from us for the same price.

Anyone even surprised by this clown show?

According to jamdav1982 there is nothing to worry about. Everething's good and we are going to destroy madrid next season.

Seriously 2 things can save us from falling down next season (under this board we will just a matter of time) Messi in god mode for a full season and Valverde turning out to be the best coach in football history.

Well he did apparently score three goals against Uruguay AWAY !!
Sadly the guy who mentioned it also said that his passing wasn't up to much at all - now THAT is a worry tbh

Paulinho is more of a dynamic type of midfielder, more oriented towards creating goals than maintaining possession. He might start for Barca ahead of Rakitic. He's been fantastic for Brazil recently, on offense and defense. He seems like a different player now than what he showed for Tot. I bet that all of Barca's South American players agree with Neymar, Paulinho would be a fine addition to Barca.

Erm No
We gave Thiago, Grimaldo, Sandro away as a gift
Bought an injured Vermaelene, put him on long contract and high wages
Bought an unknown Douglas who nobody rates, with the same money we could have paid for Asensio, and we are paying him higher wages
Paid a combined 70+ M for Gomes and washed out Arda
Made Mathieu the most expensive 30 year old CB and put him on a long contract
Desperate for a CB, we chase Thiago Silva all summer and end up with Alex Song who flops as expected

Also signed Bravo, Umtiti, Stegen who were all bargains. Digne, a solid player.
Suarez a great signing.

It hasn't been all black.

He misspoke and meant Fabinho.

I dont get it either. Lemar and Fabinho would be sensational signings. The only question is whether we can afford those types of players. They'll probably go for 45-50m each.

If we can afford VERRATTI for 80-100 million we can afford either Lemar or Fabinho.

I'd take Fabinho over Lemar because of versatility, physicality and I think Valverde would look. I at him as a better fit.

Paulinho coming here is pure madness. If he comes I hope Valverde just benches him as a snub to the board.
