Estupinan is a player we actually liked a lot, but being an EPL player (Watford) while taking a non-eu sport is a bit of a problem for us. May be if Watford get relegated his price will be reasonable.

He's an interesting player for sure.

He's on loan at Osasuna until 2021 though, and he actually isn't non-EU as he's been playing for different teams in Spain since 2016.

He has announced a few days ago he won't stay at Osasuna next season. Watford will probably look to sell him this time. AM is after him. I wouldn't mind him here but we'll probably wait too long trying to include Firpo in the Lautaro deal.

Has he been any better this season at Osasuna than Firpo at Betis though? If we are getting a similar level then it would just be a case of buying him for less than the sale of Firpo and balancing the books- yet again. In that scenario could we just trust in Akieme until winter market at worst?

He's better defensively and he has more experience playing in a 4-man defense (Firpo was mainly used as a LWB with 3 at the back at Betis). He's not the greatest technically but quite solid offensively anyway.

It's probably tactics too. Barto or Barca management always said conservative number when it came to summer transfer budget and then overspent it.
