We will always be big spenders. Immediate debts will be covered with loans. It's all about one simple question: Are you good for it or not.
There will be money for transfers but we have to be careful with wage structure.
This.
The clubs finances are fucked up for 2 reasons:
- Barto fucking up and doing stupid things like signing Griezmann when there is no need for him, calculating on the edge.
- The pandemic.
Once everybody had the chance to get vaccinated, tourism and stadium situation will relax. And if those things relax, Barcas finances will look better too. Not initially, but through time. That 1bn revenue was not a Barto fantasy and if it wasn't for the pandemic Barca would have achieved it. Banks know that, investors know that, sponsors know that.
I don't want to play the financial situation down. Things don't look rosy. However, Barca has to invest into the team if they want to keep the value of the brand. Examples of Milan and Liverpool have shown how hard it is to bounce back once you lose your spot at or around the top. Barcas rise in value wouldn't have been possible without that golden La Masia generation. There are some great prospects coming through La Masia again, but they must be paired with signings on positions La Masia doesn't produce the talent necessary for the top.
