Read that Journalist who reported our interest in Zambrano is Tier 1 for Ecuadorian Players.

We'll end up with Romeu who isn't Deco's choice but I'm guessing we'll also end up with someone I assume is on Deco's list such as Zambrano.

If we can't get a young(er) starting quality DM this would be the next best plan imo. Sign a short term veteran who can (hopefully) perform immediately and at the same time bring his understudy and longterm replacement. Possibly let him adapt at Barca B for a few months before including him in the first team.

This Zambrano kid might accept that, Diaz probably wouldn't. Also based on highlights Zambrano looks more like a stationary DM Xavi wants than Diaz. Would be happy with either of them though.

Had another look at him, and he is better than I first gave him credit for. Still think he is very slight for the loan DMC spot (Marc Casado sized) and very much a project. There is no way Xavi goes from Busquets to this kid. He didn't even go from Alba to Balde and wanted to sign Marcos Alonso, until Balde gave unquestionable performances.

So no way I see Xavi giving this kid a pivotal role, he is way too pragmatic. And would prefer Romeu coz... Experience, DNA. Which is probably the right choice too.

Saying that 3-4m and you have a punt without question.

Still say you get Fabricio though for 8m. If we have a midfield quartet, which it looks to be with no offensive signings on the wide, then he is definitely disciplined enough to be a double pivot with Frenkie. Not an out and out 4 in the Busi mold (but who is these days apart from Zubi, Rodri, Tonali) but looks way more ready.

Doubt Diaz would reject that, it is ideal situation for him, you are there to compete with 32 years old Romeu in FC Barcelona, doesn't get better than that.
Unless he wants a stepping stone club, but he would have moved already if it was about that.
I think it is more about finances as @Porque suggested. 8M for 70% of Diaz is simply too expensive for us.

One last think, I don't think if a CDM signs here should be in Barca B, Casado will most likely remain starting CDM for that team, he has the experience, seniority, Barca DNA and good enough performer to lose his place for a new comer, unless that new comer is too good to be in B team in first place.

Either sign and loan or put in first team.

Maybe you can look for a Segunda loan for Casado. Team like Andorra or Eldense, just off the top of my head.

He's young, but not that young to spend a second season at the B, if we do manage to bring a prospect that we believe has a higher ceiling.

Or even start Pau Prim, who is 17 so feasible he can be groomed in B already.

@Porque

Fabricio looks more ready but doubt Xavi would see him as immediate starter either. That's why my point about signing Romeu AND a kid to groom at the same time.

Yes, Diaz would fit in a double pivot with FDJ but longterm I still think Xavi prefers a single DM and from the little I saw I think Zambrano would be better for that role. Would ofc need to see Zambrano in some actual games to get a better opinion on him though.

As for Diaz wouldn't surprise me if in our system he'd be better used in the FDJ than Busi role. But again could be wrong and just based on his performances for Uruguay U20 where midfielders had interchangable roles.

In ideal world we shouldn't have a dilemma between Diaz and Zambrano, we would sign both and then let time and their development decide where and how they fit (could add someone like Pau Prim in the mix too). Potentially both would find a role or we could keep one and sell other. Or as it's usual with these punts for the future they would be both gone in a few years but at least we would have better chances (in theory) at least one of them would stay.

But financially we're in a position where every million we can save is important so getting both is next to impossible. We're not Chelsea to hoard talents (although when situation improves we should start doing that as it's unlikely we'll be able to compete for big money signings anytime soon).

OTOH both Diaz and Zambrano should be available for less than what we were ready to pay for Arda Guler and if one/both wouldn't go straight into the first team we also wouldn't need to register them now.

@khaled_a_d Starting initially in Barca B is good for players's adaptation under less pressure and ofc getting regular minutes which they need at their age to develop. Could still train with the first team and get some playing time there. Worst thing we can do is keep a player on the bench for whole season like we did with Torre.

Loan ofc is also a good option but would need to find the right club and player agreeing to that in first place. Not everyone will like we've seen with Guler.

El Canal de Futbol (via Sport) reports it was Araujo's agent who offered us Zambrano.

According to TM Zambrano's agency is CAA Base Ltd which represents players like Coman, Son, Richarlison, Pedro Porro and Varane amongst others.

Both Barcelona and Real Sociedad are ready to meet Álvaro Pérez Campo's release clause of €200k. The 20-year-old plays as a right-back for Deportivo de la Coruña. The player has to decide. If he joins Barça, he'd join Barça Atlètic at first. @GALICIANGOLES via @albert_roge

Trilli

We have been linked with him last season but had a higher release clause iirc.
He lost his starting place last season to a 35 years old player named Antoñito.
At 200K it is worth the risk if he has reasonable wages, at worst a decent backup RB for B team for a season or two.

Angelo Gabriel to Chelsea signed. Will go straight on loan. Gabriel Veron vibes.

This is Trilli who we were linked with a few years back or so.

I watched Depor in their playoff games against Castellon, and Trilli got taken to pieces by the Castellon wideman.

A decent dribbling winger on loan from Levante (Fabricio) who is probably Segunda level or lower LaLiga level.

So I don't know if Trilli is someone to get too hopefully about. But 200k, why not?

I want us to see we adapt to the tough financial times and come up with good solutions for our poorly covered spots (basically, right-back, defensive midfielder, and left-side attacker) that don't cost a lot of money. It can be done if you have talented executives and managers. Basically, pull off a reverse-Torres.

I like that in Sport today, it says that Ferran Torres is almost impossible to leave because we would need to sell for 30m to balance out his ammortization.

Imagine how bad an investment that you buy for 50/60m, they mature from the age of prospect of 21 to 23 years old. And yet you can not even sell him for half of what you paid 18 months later.

And to make matters worse, you pass your signing of Alvarez to City for a third of the transfer fee in the process.

Luckily it is not up there with the habitual Barto L's, but a huge L none the less.

Even now, Luis Enrique, neither father or daughter... Want him. Hell, Daddy Henry prefers Asensio.

True, but it happens, it just needs to be a rarity and a lesson-learned type of situation. Naby Keita cost Liverpool about 60m plus wages and he did shit. Many more examples in nearly all teams.
