Well we're in the moment of LaLiga's 1:3 rule, because our Masa Salarial (entire spending of the club, which includes not only football but everything else too) exceeds the amount LaLiga allows us to because of our financial situation, meaning debts. LaLiga protects spanish clubs this way according to them and doesn't allow to spend more than they can afford. They calculate the Masa Salarial for every LaLiga team and publishing a salary cap, which a club can't exceed or it faces it's punishment rules we're talking about today.
So if clubs exceed their allowed amount, they fall under LaLiga's 1:4, or 1:3 or 1:1 rule depending how big the gap is. Meaning if we're under 1:4, we need to free up 4 Euro for every new Euro we want to invest. The latest information was, that barca is in the moment under the 1:3 rule, meaning it has to free up 3€ for every new € they want to invest. The goal is reaching the 1:1 rule for now, but for that Barca needs to sign new contracts and get new income first. Ending big contracts by selling players helps too of course.

Let's do some easy math on this to understand a bit how much money barca needs to free to register Olmo:
Barca paid Leipzig a €60m fee. A club amortizes a player over his contract's period. Olmo got a 6 year contract until 2030, meaning Olmo costs Barca in their books €60m/6years = €10m per year.
But that's not all, he also receives a salary which counts too of course. If we believe this source: https://www.capology.com/player/dani-olmo-35922/
Olmo is getting €11.5m gross/year.

So add his annual salary to annual fee cost amortization: 10m+11.5m rounds up for €21,5m per year. That's what Olmo costs Barca if the numbers in the press are correct of course.
So if we're still under the 1:3 rule and Barca wants to register a new player for an annual cost of 21,5m Euro, it needs to free up three times that number, meaning 64,5m Euro for LaLiga to allow registering Olmo.

It's the same for Chiesa. Take his fee + his salary, devide it through his years of contract and multiply by three to know how much money Barca needs to free up in order to be able to register him.

You're welcome. To add to that, we can also estimate how much money Barca already freed up:

- According to the same source from Dani Olmo's salary, Gündogan received a 16m gross salary which Barca freed up now
- Sold Faye for 10.3m
- Julian Araujo10m
- Riad Chadi 9m
- Guiu 6m
- Estanis Pedrola 3m

If contracts or loans ended last season, they sadly don't count into this rule. Meaning Cancelo, Felix, Sergi Roberto or Marcus Alonso freed up salary don't count here for Dani Olmo.

So with this superficial math, we freed up 16+10+10+9+6+3 + the salaries of these players, which weren't big of course aside from Gündogan. But let's say these 5 players received trogether around 2-3m without checking it.

So it would make around €57m that the club freed up, so it needs around 8m more to free up to be able to register Olmo according to this balance. That's why the club still needs to loan out Vitor Roque and Lenglet, meaning free up their salaries for the books to reach the goal to be able to register Olmo.
But again, it's all very superficial without official numbers and we also don't know the numbers of new sponsors Barca got over the summer, which also count as new income towards the rule, the same as with other new spendings which would drag that balance down again. So take it with a grain of salt :D

I was going to write up, all that, thanks for saving me the time lol.

We also got 40m from the catering company and another 3 I think from the new shorts sponsor.

So only in income, we are at about 83m euros.

We are also getting rid of lenglet salary.

He should be registered by now, but some of those deals didn't close in time.

If la Liga says no, come Monday/ Tuesday, they are on some Felix loan level bullshit.

Reports were we had a 100m hole in the budget that needed to be filled, that's 83+ whatever we got from the USA tour

How bad or good our Masa Salarial has become this season, we'll see when LaLiga is publishing the new Salary Cap list for this season. They did it in the end of September last season.

Profile wise, Chiesa will be good. Hope so he is player who he was.

If there can only one more purchase, let it be a RB. There is no need for another attacker. Must keep Garcia, at least until mid-season. Sell or loan Torre and Fort.
