nah he hasn't shown anything worthwhile on club level. And he's 30 now. Would just be another Pjanic type signing. Trust in Casado for now and Bernal next season

Barca B is not lacking the talent, they are just an extremely young and inexperienced team. At start of this season they were also missing several players who were called up regularly by Flick to fill up the first team bench with all the injuries. And they were struggling with their own injuries but are now getting back Mbacke for example which will def help.
Hopefully both Ghanaians (Oduro and Aziz) will also be eligible to play in a week or two and then in January Ibrahim Diarra joins the club (though knowing past experience with African players will probably take until March before he'll be eligible to play so don't expect to see too much from him this season, he should just use first few months to adapt and then take a step forward next season).
Recruiting good talents to BA was never that big of a problem. But truly elite talents who at 17-18 are already playing a top division football in South America or in a solid European league would never accept going to BA regardless of which league they play in because it's a step down from their current level. For them we either need to find a spot in the first team or convince them to sign for us and then be loaned out. But that's something we never do and I think it's a lost opportunity.
Another thing is when our finances improve we should stop doing what has become a norm over the past 5 years. If we want to become a normal club again we shouldn't depend on 16 yo kids jumping over Barca Atletic straight into the first team starting lineup. Ofc if you have a special talent like Yamal it's hard to hold him back but promoting so many youngsters year after year is not healthy for them nor the club so hopefully that will change soon and give La Masia kids in future again more time to develop.
People's perception over youngsters has also changed a lot recently due to us forcing teenagers into the first team. Nowadays if someone is not a starter at 18 he's already considered a bum who will never make it when back in time players usually had to wait to made their first team breakthrough until they were already (close to) 20. Hopefully Fermin's success last year and Casado's emergence this season are now showing everyone there are also other paths to the first team and youngsters coming through La Masia will be more patience. Especially since there are many players who have left Barca early and have then realized that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Can't see us paying the wages required to get Davies to be honest. Wouldn't be the best use of funds when he's arguably not even as good as Balde.
Think we will go and get Reinildo of Ath. Madrid instead. Much lower wages and can fill in as cover for Balde.
Don't think the club have lost faith in Balde yet to replace him outright.

Davies doesn't have to be a Balde replacement. It doesn't hurt to have 2 good players in the same position.

He is a bit underwhelming name, but far better than Martin at least.

We've been linked with some decent alternatives for LB like Carreras, Reinaldo, Pubill etc - I think we'll go for an LB this winter already. I would also like for us to get a seasoned forward/winger on a free next summer - Son would indeed be ideal, especially if Nico isn't coming. Than we have Dybala - still "young", could turn thing around. Or we continue with our youngsters?

He had a great individual season at Roma last year, one of the top performing midfielders in Serie A.
Pjanic was a transfer to improve accounting, Paredes is not.
Trusting in just Casado and Bernal would be a rookie movie. We need experience in that position.
