Willpower/motivation to play for your home club makes these guys better than many others that nominally have more quality.

Valle might be good enough as backup, but I'd like one level higher. But sure, if Balde keeps growing into the role we might be ok with a backup like Valle. No sense really in trying to get Cucu imo, I don't think he would be a big enough upgrade over Balde it being worthwhile.

Yeah center forward will be tricky, but I do like Oshi' and think we should go for him. Some very nice goals he's scored for Gala and his overall game is very good. His buyout is what, 70M? Would be nice to get that down a little - let's see how Napoli and Oshi will move forward.

Sticking to this is what makes us have one of the worst GK in top 5 leagues as backup to our Stegen who is injury prone.

Never mind it can force us to promote players earlier than needed, which in itself can be harmful to both the talents who got promoted earlier, or feel of unfulfillment with those who are late bloomers like Casado himself.

At the end of the day, we are aren't like Bilbao, a nationalist type of club who is very closed on itself. We buy talents from all over the globe and honestly, we are pretty damn good on it when we aren't careless. We bought a player from Croatian 2nd division and sold him for 10 times the price a year later.

Flick is showing no hesitation in trusting our academy, so if he says he need reinforcement in one position, I won't mind going for that.

For example, he prioritized Olmo over a CDM despite huge backlash from the fanbase and it is proving to be the right decision so far.

If he wants a LB, which it seems to be the truth, after showing no faith in Valle then I will trust his judgement tbh. So far he clearly doesn't rate him much.

Same for CB btw, he has tried both Cuenca and Dom with no success. If we lose one CB from the squad next summer, then I would trust them if they go for a new CB (I hope Mbacke will get a chance though, I would like to see how he fares at that level)

We sold two highly rated leftbacks. Navarro to Atalanta and the Azmin or something (ok this guy left more than sold) to Bayern.

So there's two options younger than Balde that we can keep an eye on with Masia heritage.

The current UYL U19 LB is 17 and highly rated.

And also we will need to see how good Oduro is it at the B when his work permit is sorted. He looks very interesting in highlights.
