What should the club prioritize

What do you think about Pubill for RB option? He looked realy good for Spain Olympics team.

Very high for fullback (more then 1,9m), but still looks very coordinated. Shouldnt be to expensive playing for Almeria?

Well, Almeria wanted 20m last summer despite being relegated. Could maybe get him cheaper this summer if they won't be promoted but after a poor start they're already top of Segunda now.

I like Pubill but he has problems with knee injury, reportedly failed physical with Atalanta last summer because of that too.

I would consider Juanlu Sanchez too but not sure Sevilla would negotiate with us with institutional problems between both clubs.

Still believe Fresneda has good potential as well despite not playing much under Amorim (didn't really fit into his system so no idea why he went there tbf) and Sporting is willing to sell but will probably keep him now until summer with their prefered targets going elsewhere.

But I think we might have a hard time to convince any young RB to come here when Kounde plays on a high level and almost never needs a rest. It's really disappointing that Flick doesn't rate Fort (but OTOH likes Gerard Martin).

Would he accept that though? It would be his death sentence if he enables club to sign proper CF.

At least now he has his starting spot, the only CF we can sign are cheap crap like Jonathan David, no competition for Lewy.
I am not sure he would. But I think we have better chances to extend him than to push him out of the club.

Honestly, I don't think we need a young backup players, unless they are a potential World Class players of sort. I prefer to go for a 26 years old Mingueza who knows his role, than a 21 years old player who needs playing time for development

Yeah, we clearly don't need them at positions where we have starters in prime years (like Kounde and Raphinha) who are playing on a high level.

At least not spending "big" (and big is basically any money in current situation for us) on them. It's another thing if they come through La Masia like Fort then ofc you try to give them minutes or otherwise they should go on loan so they don't become the next Montoyas. Not comparing the talent level here but rather overstaying either at Barca B level or rooting on the first team bench without having any real chance to get meaningful playing time.

Mingueza ticks all the boxes if he really plays well at Celta, against us he wasn't good but I don't watch him otherwise. Prime years, can play on both flanks and even CB, knows the club, La Masia, cheap...

Low key Gerard Martin lately hasn't been a liability. He isn't an asset yet but it's some kind of improvement

I mean, he almost gifted Benfica a goal few seconds after coming on.

Agreed he had some good moments but he'll turn 23 next month and before this season has never played above Primera RFEF level. I don't actually hate him as it might sound from my posts, I've said start of the season when people were all over him he's a decent player whom I've liked last season at BA. Should have a solid La Liga career at some mid/lower table club but his upside is limited and we shouldn't have problems finding improvement on him to challenge Balde for his spot.

I just don't see why/how Martin deserved 400 more minutes (all comp) so far this season than Fort. I know Kounde is a machine but could also give him a rest sometimes (especially when we are up by few goals) or just play Fort on the left where he did well last season (probably better than as RB). I think he's a victim of Flick's inability to rotate the squad and/or his poor talent evaluation. Was really looking forward to see him build on last season (can say the same about Fermin too who is also somehow stagnating and not playing enough) but now I think would be worth thinking about either loaning him this month (if Eric stays Flick will probably just use him as RB if needed anyway) or let him play for BA. Not ideal ofc because he's above that level and especially Sanchez also not being a good coach but worst thing for development at his age is to root on the bench.

Given the rumours so far, I have a really bad feeling that going back to 1:1 is going to be more of a curse than a blessing.

If someone offered me a deal that we would sign nobody I'd probably bite their hand off.

I genuinely fear what the Special Olympics Sporting Department is going to come up with next. Are they going to go for a New World Record

80m bid for Reece James?

It doesn't make sense. We have a buy clause on Faye. Left footed CB

Yes he's not lighting up the world there. But an avg 6.8 Sofa rating while playing 600'.
I would say thats pretty decent for a 20-year-old player joining a new team and new league.

Give him time.

Best to let him marinate another season in France a develop.

People have this idea of players instantly adapting and playing awesome at a team in crisis. By people I'm talking of Rennes fans.

Ya.
We are covered for next season with Tah joining, Araujo, and Inigo's extension.
If Faye does well, he can easily be the Inigo replacement in 2026.
