Even if it's true, Perez didn't want to negotiate anyway. No way there'll be again transfer between Real & Barca. Not in this century.
Well, there could be one if Barca pays the buyout clause of an RM player. Or vice versa. But that's the only way a Real to Barca (or vice versa) transfer can happen.
What's Di Maria's buyout clause (yes, I know it's way beyond what we'd ever pay)?
Thiago DID have a HIGH release clause. The problem was Thiago's father insisted to insert a sub-clause that said if he doesn't get to start 20/25 (I don't exactly remember) matches in that season, his release clause would be 22/25m. And unfortunately because of Thiago's injury, NOT because he wasn't chosen, he fell short of that figure. So Bayern got him for cheap.
It wasn't a certain number of matches, it was 60% of the games he was available for. So it happened because he didn't get chosen enough.
