Barça's Transfers and Rumors

Halilovic and Suarez were bottom stage in terms of age and development. By comparison, Neymar was last stage. We need more options in between. Dybala for example was a middle stage when was signed by Juve. Marquinhos when was signed by PSG was also middle stage. The process of development was well in motion, but not exactly complete.

That is the player we should sign. Max. 2 years away from starting in the first team.

Alexis Sanchez is an example of a middle-stage developed young player we have signed lately. Very similar to Juventus signing Dybala.

So, basically what Madrid has done recently with Di Maria, Oezil, Higuain, Benzema, Ronaldo, now James, Isco, Kovacic, etc.

Exactly. Look at the clubs they bought from. Benfica (Di Maria), Werder (Ozil), River (Higuain), Lyon (Benzema), Monaco (James), Malaga (Isco), Inter (Kovacic). Do not agree with Ronaldo. Not even one great club, history aside (I do not count this Inter a very relevant club today).

Young players, but not raw talents. Not a player that takes 4-5 seasons to fully develop, but more like 1-2.

You mentioned 3 examples and all 3 costed ton of money tbh and the one we risked with signing him many won't consider him a real success
And the last one we signed from that category was actually Alba not Alexis .but Alba was a good opportunity .last year and wanted Barca without big competition and a place in the starting line up

Honestly I would like it if we get more players of that category ,but I am not against the other approaches .you usually need a mix of approaches in the market .from expensive superstars(Suarez&Neymar) ,propspects(Alen&D.Suarez) .bargains(Raktic) & young players (Alba)

Alba as well. forgot about him. Even more so than Alexis, you are right. Alexis was sold for profit, should have been a bigger profit if we weren't so bad at selling. Proves that, even if these players don't work out ideally, they can be sold for profit later (bigger, or smaller, depends on who the seller and the buyer are). England is a great place for that (see Ozil and Di Maria sales), because the market sees them as desirable and valuable.

Yeah, Ronaldo doesn't fit, considering the fact that he won the Balon D'Or before he came. But his growth as a goalscorer etc, was just as great as the general development of these players. I meant it in that respect, should've clarified earlier.

The problem is that signing too many players like sends a bad message to La Masia and could lead to more talents leaving the club to England etc.

La Masia players has been leaving even when La Masia was at its best .look at Fran Mérida,Dani Pacheco and others
The possibility of an early paycheck can be very tough to turn down .

Where do you see him playing for us though?

I don't see a place for him in our team right now, that's why I said we don't need him. Still I really like his playing style and potential. If he develops as I think he will he could be long term Iniesta replacement in 2 or 3 years.

Alena looks great. I'm starting to think we won't need a midfielder anytime soon.

Keeping my fingers crossed for him and Tarin.

If we sell Bartra, would Tarin at least get his minutes next season? In that case I think it would be better to loan him for a season to get more regular playing time.

I don't trust loans. I also think playing Segunda or Segunda B makes little difference in terms of developing talent. Xavi, Busi and co. all also played in 3rd division (or lower) before promoted. If you are talented enough it really makes no difference.

With all this talk about signing CBs why aren't we following Mateo Mussachio?

We can never be sure about who "we aren't following " tbh .last year there was very few reports if any about Arda or Vidal .same thing a year b4 regarding the likes of Rakitic for example
Right now the reports about following any player is just a rumor
Also ,I might suspect we are more interested in someone a bit younger
