I think a lot of people in regards to our long-term future forget about Halilovic. I see him as honestly our best prospect. He's looked great this season and I think if Denis deserved a callback for his performances, so does Halilovic. With him in particular, he'd be a good sub for Messi or Neymar right now but I think he is more talented than Munir and Sandro combined and would offer a lot off the bench and as a rotation player. If we had Halilovic and someone like Gamiero as subs for MSN, I'd be very happy with that. Even though Dybala would be a player who could play in any of our attacking positions.

In MF though, I do think we need more creativity. As @a_d_khaled said, Denis has been playing more as a winger than a CM at Villareal and Rafinha is a similar player. It'll be interesting to see how they progress but more than anything, we need someone who can create chances through a pass. Gundogan is the player who would do that the most for me but it seems like Pep is all over him at City. Tielemans, Erikson, Oliver Torres, Coutinho.

Rakitic, great as he is, can lack creativity and we could use someone more creative for more defensive teams.

CB might actually be Marquinhos this season bc he might seriously push the move through but the player I'm curious to hear people's opinion about is Rojo. He obviously hasn't been great in Van Gaal's side but name a defender who has this season. He had an excellent World Cup in 2014 and obviously Mascherano could mentor him into the style, tactical demands and dressing room adaption. I really like how passionate he is, really puts it on the line every time he's out there but not in a reckless manner, like David Luiz.

At LB, never fucking should have let Grimaldo left. Not sure why he never got a chance here, could have really used him about now. This will be hard to find, especially someone who won't mind competing and most likely playing second fiddle to Alba, but Alba all honesty has been pretty poor recently. Ricardo Rodriguez? Lol

According to GLOBO.

We are are scouting Corinthians right back Fagner,as a replacement for Alves.

Must be a joke. The player is mediocre and 27 years old. On the other hand, we have a long history of transfers that cant be explained rationally, whether its Keirrison, Douglas, Henrique or that obese and lazy garbage player (Robert?) we got from Brazil for Barca B. Buying players who no one rates seems to be our thing.

Sorry, but I cannot remember Rojo being particularly great. If anything he was the weak link of that Argentina defence and always wasted anything useful in attack down that left flank as their LB.

He's mediocre. Tactically inept and skill-wise not anything special either. He's 26 and he hasn't improved a bit in any of his important attributes. Mascherano can mentor players that can improve or have showed the necessary skill. Players like Marquinhos, Laporte, Umtiti, Mustafi and even our own guys like Tarin and Quintilla, but his mentoring will be totally futile on a player that's simply not good enough for Barca or good enough for Manchester United, or even good enough to be the starter for the Argentine National Team.

However, this is just my opinion. I don't rate him at all.

No joke on that report.

Feels like we are trying to find another younger Alves but so far we are not doing a good job at it.

and if it's from Globo, there's likely truth to it.

Still don't get how many of you can rate Denis so low. To say he's not starting material is fine, but to lump him in with nobodies is really wrong. He laid on magical assists for Sevilla last season, and scored plenty too (see: Zenit). Look at his performance against AC for Sevilla in pre season, his skill level was astounding.

He's played across 3 positions between this season and last and been good in all of them. He's a crucial part of Villarreal's success this season, a team about to finish 4th and in the semis of the Europa, in which he has the most assists in. I'm fairly sure, other than Bruno and Victor Ruiz, he's played more minutes this season than any at Villarreal.

To say he's not an upgrade on Rafinha is utterly ridiculous. Why do you think Napoli are trying to get him? Now more than ever we need young quality squad players who can grow into first teamers. Whilst his skillset is best in the midfield, he's still an option out wide now.

All of that, and he's worth 3 million. Baffling how some of you lot don't want him.

He's always good in FM, but that doesn't count for much!

As long as he's not seen as a starter, then sure, bring him in.

Next season there will be a shift in power to the epl.

The best managers are going to be there Pep, Conte, Klopp probably Mourinho. These managers will attract alot of talent and will further limit our options.

Add to that the money from the epl deal and the future doesn't look too bright.

We have too many players 28 and above and the young players nowadays have no loyalty. They go where the big bucks are.

God damn the scouting department could get better names just from football manager...

Do the fans really have to start their own scouting department, let the club fund us...

And who on earth is Fagner? The dude who failed at PSV and Wolfsburg? He even looks like he's drinking beer on his wikipedia picture ffs...

Only with Douglas ,and Zubi were following his teammate Rodrigo Caio ,a young CB (who was considered legit but got injured .failed medical with Valencia after btw) as a Barca B signing .he was impressed by Douglas and started negotiation with him
The rumors about Caio was from Catalan media ,it was the shift in interest that was reported by Brazilian media 1st
Edit :Fagner is even older than Douglas ,almost 27 . non of the players mentioned were that old when signed from Brazil .nevermind he failed in Europe
