This is what we must be prepared for IMO in this market, based on how rich their current club is and their level:

Pogba= 150m+50m add-ons (or perhaps 120+80)
Umtiti=30m
Fabinho=25m
Mustafi=55m
Koulibaly=45m
Murillo=35m
Veltman=15m
Tah=50m
Boufal=40m

are we targetting all those players?

We are slowly becoming a real madrid clone with this galactico chasing.. this is not what made love barca at first place.

brace yourself because this is what we need to do to stay alive.
La masia is not churning Xavi,Iniestas, puyols, messis anymore
may be we clone them, otherwise we ought to be in the market for quality players
because our primary objective is to win titles not have a sweet reputation (which has been severely tattered in the past few years nevertheless)

What made you love Barca huh? Our once in a lifetime youth player squad who brought us tons of success? Do you have any idea how successful we've been with that model in the past? Hint, not very.

Choosing and developing young world class talent isn't a science, it's also a lot of chance and luck. We don't have the youth talent right now, so we have to buy talent ...like we always have.

We have been doing "this galactico thing" for decades. We call them "cracks". Its not like Romario, Ronaldo or Rivaldo were not "galacticos".

Who knows who we are targeting. MD and Sport dont seem to know. But these are the prices we must be prepared for. I've said it before, but if Mathieu was 22 years old instead of 30, we would have paid 40-50m euros for him from Valencia. People just assume that since we have mostly bought oldies with no sell-on value or players with a year left on their contract, the prices will stay the same when we buy players younger than 25. Not gonna happen. Oldies and players with a year left have much lower prices than players with real long term value and it will be reflected in the prices we will pay going forward as we rejuvenate the squad.

We always had one or two acquired stars, the rest of of team were talented players that were polished by Barca system. Now we want stars on every position, every single player who is well known. That's what Real Madrid is doing and our most of our fans want Florentino Perez in charge who will collect every star player out there. Look at Atletico Madrid, how many star players did they purchase?

One or two acquired stars? Certainly not true. The "10 players from La Masia in the starting lineup" around 2008-2012 is an exception in Barca history. Far from the reality going forward.

and before 2008 Barca certainly wasn't a galactico team. You are confusing us with Madrid.n (when I said Barca system I did not mean La Masia)

Before 2008, we still had huge numbers of La Masia players like Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Valdes, Messi etc etc. The last player coming up through La Masia who has managed to become a starter is Sergio Busquets 7 years ago!

I hope you are not considering Cruyf's dream team as Galactico?

When RM bought Kaka we felt the need to respond with our Ibrahimovic purchase. Worst deal ever? We handed Inter the CL as a result.

Cruyffs Dream Team certainly had plenty of superstars like Laudrup, Romario, Stoichkov etc.

We are still talking about 1 player. Last couple of years we bought Suarez and Neyamar , and now we want stars on every position. That's exactly what RM is doing. In the meanwhile AM is buying talented players who are talented and good fit in their system and all of sudden they become beasts. See the difference?

I have yet to see us going for "stars on every position". Look in this forum. So many people want stars from PSG, Arsenal, Bayern etc etc and dismiss younger players from smaller clubs as not good enough, unproven, plays in bad league, not Barca quality blablabla. People might want unrealistic superstars, but we are not linked to any superstar really. I have long said we should buy players like Umtiti, Fabinho, Dembele and others, before we were linked to those players, but who knows what we will do. Atletico plays a very defensive and tough game and is relying less on attacking flair than us.
