Don't get why we would be in for Miranda when there is Benatia available. Both will probably cost the same. Neither Roma or Atletico need to sell, but I'd rather have Benatia who is younger than Miranda even though the latter is a top class defender as well.

Its not only Luca Toni though. A guy like Di Natale is of similar age and scores a huge number of goals there. Meanwhile, flop after flop are exported. Lamela, Jovetic, Pastore... Apart from Mourinhos' season with Inter, Serie A havent had a single team in the CL semis in the last 7 years...

Di Natale has always been a great scorer. In fact this season has been his poorest season in a long long time.

I understand your apprehension about other serie A players and serie A teams, but it is unfair to judge everyone with handicaps not of their own doing. If you watch Immobile play, his talent is evident. He is a good player.

I personally don't buy the Miranda rumor. Makes little sense, unless you're getting the player for a bargain, which I doubt.

Going after Miranda also means less of a chance on Koke. Atletico is not going to sell to Barca two of their starters. One? Maybe. Two? Highly doubtful.

The only likely scenario in my head is that Zubi and co are purposely leaking out random names to the press while they are working on deals for the real targets to give them some breathing space.

I mean, no one saw this Marquinhos thing coming and the guy who leaked the story first was Italy based Gianluca Di Marzio and no MD, Sport, RC etc guy.

That's what I think the twitter guy is referring to with smoke screens. Not to play the clubs and get cheaper prices, but to play the press to get them off their backs a bit and offer them less opportunities to screw up their negotiations.

Well, OK, I change from negative to neutral against Immobile. I havent watched Torino this season and whenever I have watched Italy, he hasnt played.

Rakitic is not Barca good though, that I can say. He is at his appropriate level now.

I think Rakitic is good enough to move up a step into a good English club, or maybe Dortmund, however any need Barcelona had for a player like Rakitic can be easily filled by Rafinha. Rakitic would be a good depth player for Barca, a la Seydu Keita. Energy off the bench type.

Rafinha will most likely be much better and is free.

... which doesn't make any sense of course. It's not like they need to sell their players. Generally, a lot of the things he writes are just pure guesswork, he also believes in every rumour that is not coming from MD or Sport (e.g. Reus).
