It is football not business, if they do that simeone will be criticized for that. If he have a clause he should buy him and keep him close for seasons to come. It is not atleti is mid table or relegation team they are one of the top contenders for la liga and they play in champions league. Buying him and selling him for 6M profit is just bizarre especially if the player has the potential to be the one of the GK.

Atletico is not a small club anymore mate. They consider themselves title contenders. Imagine how the fans will react to the club acting like a small club.

Courtois probably wouldn't want to join them permanently... But I am sure they would not sell him to us for a mere 30M if the rumor is indeed true

true, they are not... But they aren't the primary contenders to the league yet. They are surely on the way, but it would take some time. It is possible to make this deal happen if the president is ready to tender an offer that they can't refuse

No, he can sign and announce his new contract in January, as his with Barça expires on June. But he won't leave on Jan.

Victor Valdes (31) has decided to join Monaco next year. He will sign for four seasons and announce the deal in January. [rac1 ser]

I think if we made a serious offer Courtois would push for the move. He likes Spain, talks awesome Spanish, and would become our #1 goalie. Will he be a starter for Chelsea next season?
Also with the way Mourinho has treated some of his national team friends, Lukaku, De Bruyne,... don't think that will have a positive influence.
