You gonna trust Wenger who sold us Song as a CB or your own eyes when you see Cesc play alongside Iniesta in the CM role

No I am not - awareness is the understanding of what is going on around you.

I know the difference and know what it means when people describe it.

He struggles to play a deeper role at times as his instinct is to make things happen and not dictate a game while he is not as agile as someone like Xavi.

Awareness is probably his biggest strength.

Are you trying to say Wenger thought Song was a good fit at CB?

Who knows what Wenger thinks man. As for Cesc, he might have awareness as you guys seem to describe it in the open midfields of the PL but in the compact shit he has to put up with in Barca he has as much awareness as David Luiz (hyperbole? I know)

Isn't Rakitic more of an AM like Cesc? We need a CM...

In all honesty we need CB. It should be the first thing on the agenda before everything else. Puyol even reitred! Me by the end of the summer

Well I don't know what to tell you, it's like we're watching two different players. Cesc's awareness of his surroundings is really poor, I cannot see where you think that's his biggest strength. He very often gets himself into trouble because he simply does not see opponents around him.

I guess we're seeing totally opposite things.

I happen to like Rakitic a lot. I welcome the signing.

His mobility alone in the midfield and speed in transition is going to be a breath of fresh air. Whatever attacking stats we may lose we make up for with a succinct lineup that will have space and defined roles to break a bus. Players like Rafinha with attacking instinct and passing abilities will help to carry the load for Cesc's attacking stats as well.

I'm a fan of Rakitic.

Okay well the good news is that it isn't a done deal yet. I don't want Cesc to leave personally but if he is for sure out this summer, we need to get more than a flimsy 33 million for him.

Personally, I'd want us to deal him to City more than Chelsea. They have more to offer us. Example Cesc + 15 million for Aguero would be a great deal that benefits both teams.

And I don't want Rakitic. He will be a waste of money and I guarantee he will not be the sort of player we need to go forward. Again, he needs to be the focal point of his team to be effective like Cesc and he doesn't have nearly as much talent as Cesc so why would we think he'd be a good fit here?

I'll take Rafinha, a promotion of Denis Suarez, Pogba or Oliver Torres before Rakitic. All of them are younger and all of them show potential to be world-class players. You don't replace a world-class player with a solid and good player who doesn't do anything that special.

Guess who loses the ball more than any other Barca player? Messi.

It doesnt mean they lack awareness. It shows where they operate and how they look to play.

You dont score the amount of goals and gain the number of assists that Cesc does without a good understanding of whats around you. You dont win World Cups, European Championships and get signed by Wenger and Pep if 'awareness' is your biggest weakness.
