Bernardo Silva

I watched him carefully again yesterday.

In the attack and buildup he is great, has great work rate, great ball control and he always tries to find space. He is a joy to watch attack wise. But two things are worrying.

1. He was a ghost in defense, I don't know if this is a tactical decision that he plays only attack wise or not but he was really really bad in defense. He basically stopped running every time a player passed him. He didn't even try to press for majority of the game.

2. His fitness, I am not sure if this is due to the fact he is dead tired from the long season since this is his first year of playing on this level or something else but he basically lost his pace after first 45 min.

I haven't watched Monaco from the beginning of the season, I started watching them few months ago so I don't know if this is his usual way of playing or just accumulated fatigue from long season. In last couple of games he definitely wasn't so inactive in defense.

If this is how Bernardo will always play (fitness and pace), imagine us in a Cl quarters against Am or Juve in upcoming years.

We would be outrun, eaten alive snd shut down easily as always.

Raki can't run, Iniesta can't run, Busi is a turtle.
Only Raki can win a duel currently.
Add Bernardo into this.

Players like Bernardo would give us more flair in smaller La liga matches compared to today.
Against bigger and physical teams:
Neymar falls down on a ground whenever a wind blows, Messi is old, Iniesta, Bernardo and Raki are dead tired after 45-60 minutes.
We would be so weak defensively in Msn and midfield area.
Try to apply a pressure with Msn plus Ini/Silva/Rakitic.

That is sooo not the way to go long term if we want to evolve our game and add a plan B.
If we want to remain in Pep's shadow forever and try to repeat the same thing for 100 times, then BSilva is the way to go.

Better in driblings, shootings and leadership? Effecting scores in big matches more than Silva?

And Premier league is more difficult than Ligue 1? Those are your reasons?

Sorry but how old are you? 12?

no i am 5 years old but i think my IQ is bigger than u
u asked me my reason and i answered why i think Coutinho is better player than Silva
if u have any reason that u think silva is better tell me
u said in ur comment "I am not saying he isn't better" on top
now u r defending Silva

if u say EPL is not more difficult than Ligue1

i won't answer u anymore

First of all I am not defending Silva (as I mentioned above he showed some serious flaws in last game against Juve) and secondly you talk like you have an IQ equal to your age.

Well if this is his usual way of playing than I must agree with you but as I said before I can't be 100% sure this is the case. Against City he was much more active in both directions. Maybe he is just worn out. This season he already played 4.126 minutes! In comparison Busquets played 3.658 min and Coutinho 2.352 min.

One thing is certain, Coutinho is for sure faster and more dynamic player. Nevertheless I wonder has anyone here followed Bernardo from the beginning of the season?

A lot of people starting to say he is in Manchester having a medical at City today. Nobody that reliable yet but alot of noise.

80M for Silva, that is a lot of money although expected

This is not looking good. Verratti is off limits, Bernardo might also be if this is true, Coutinho will probably stay at Liverpool and i don't know what is the situation with Eriksen but it will be tremendously hard to find Iniesta's succesor this summer. :shakeshead:

Another problem is if we really have only 75 mil for transfers this summer we might end up only with RB and Deulofeu. Our only hope is to sell some players for decent amount of money and than use that money to buy world class midfielder otherwise this will end up badly.

I read yesterday that Mourinho wants him in United and based on his connections with Mendes I'd expect Silva to go there before City.

Good riddance.

Very good in attack but we are too weak defensively to add another passenger to the already existing ones

Pep is on cheat mode, it ain't fun at all.

It really is a cheat mode. Anyone can be a good manager with 200 mil EUR spent every season. He will try to buy everything there is on the market. I honestly hate City and I respect him less and less every year. I would really like to see him at some club with fewer resources. Not sure if he could succeed in environment like that.

Going to be disappointed if he goes to either of the Manchester clubs. I like his style of play and was hoping we'd sign him

EDIT: and how can you want to go from living in Monaco to Manchester? Gross.

Verratti and Eriksen were unavailable from those 4 anyway. And while I'd like to get B.Silva I only see him as RW if we'll change our system to 4-2-3-1. The same with Coutinho. I just don't see them as a fit for CM position in 4-3-3. Maybe they could adapt longterm playing there but not immediately. If we'll stay with 4-3-3 then I'd go for Naby Keita, Tolisso or Seri.
