Interesting

Pep Guardiola on Bernardo Silva: "I would like for Bernardo to stay in Manchester. He's a very special player. But I don't know what's going to happen."

Pep Guardiola on Bernardo Silva and Barcelona: ?I would love for Bernardo to continue, but? I don't know what will happen. Players sometimes have a desire and I'm not a person to stop a person's desire?. 🚨🔵 #MCFC

?I want Bernardo to stay here, 100%. We will see what happens?.

Seems like Pep is worried about a Bernardo burnout syndrome and is trying to cash in. Sadly we have issues even registering the signings we made so far.

Nothing changes for us with recent news. Sell de Jong and we'll be able to register Silva.

I'm 50-50 on Bernardo tbh. It is a high risk signing for me. I'd much rather sign a midfield motor like a younger Kante. Have no clue who that might be though. Would much prefer if we had Fede or Tchouameny .

We have surplus of what Madrid don't have, and they have surplus to what we'd need if it makes sense. I guess this is part of the reason why many are invested in Madrid-Barca rivalry.

I have no doubt he's a fabulous player and would be an upgrade over what we have. But at the same time it raises many questions. Mainly if he's a must. Next year Busquets will be gone and if Nico doesn't magically step up, we'll be left with no DCM. At the same time we'd be spending considerable amount on a position we're grooming Gavi for. I'm not saying drop everything and trust the youth but when you're tight with money you gotta take little calculated risks in squad planning. In short, great player and probably a big upgrade but not sure if worth the trouble in our situation.

Yeah, well noted. Two clubs are just fundamentally different. They went for Tchouameny despite the squad they have and we're going for Bernardo. I'd mention DNA if I dared.

Pep just has the attitude of if a player wants to leave he can. It helps that you have an open cheque book to buy someone to replace him without much constraint.

I don't see De Jong going if im honest, not now.

I know I bleat about Bernardo a lot, but I think he's that good he'd just settle straight in. The age thing is impossible to say, some people keep going e.g. Modric and others seemingly fall off a cliff.
