Bernardo Silva

| Frenkie De Jong wants to join Bayern Munich.
@BILD

But they don't want him. Okay, maybe they do, but they don't need him. Plus all of their officials pretty much confirmed Bayern's business for this summer is done. It's either Chelsea or stay, at least in this transfer window.

I'm 50-50 on Bernardo tbh. It is a high risk signing for me. I'd much rather sign a midfield motor like a younger Kante. Have no clue who that might be though. Would much prefer if we had Fede or Tchouameny :lol:.

We have surplus of what Madrid don't have, and they have surplus to what we'd need if it makes sense. I guess this is part of the reason why many are invested in Madrid-Barca rivalry.

We already have engines and aggressive players. I personally want some more flair and even more so world class creativity injected into our midfield, or should I say CM spots, especially for the way I suspect Xavi wants to play, he wants both of his CMs to be highly creative and great at passing, just like him and Iniesta were.

Pedri certainly has it, but he's not enough. Gavi and Kessie are not that kind of midfielders. Good thing is, Gavi does have a lot of time to develop that part of his game, but he'd do extremely well learning from Bernardo for the next 5 years. And he'll still be years away from his prime (only 23) by that time, crazy!

As for the kind of midfield engine you want, I agree let's get that too, but save it for the CDM spot. Move away from the 'Busquets profile' and look more towards a younger Kante, as you say. That kind of player, behind two creative monsters like Pedri and Bernardo, now that would be fantastic!

Totally agree but I fear instead of going for a more physical engine style DM, we are trapped in our old ways and will be looking for 'the next Busquets'. Probably chase Rodri to no avail.

Rodri would be pretty good for us tbh, but doubt it happens.

I think someone like Sandro Tonali would be amazing for us. Physical, great on the ball, a proper CDM. But he's a Milan fan on contract till 2026 and Milan are doing well now so no chance of that happening.

Yup would love Rodri but getting players from City is unrealistic unless they absolutely want to leave.

As for Bernardo though, I don't think theres much risk in terms of him performing or fitting here, certainly not 50/50. Financially well thats another story..

Rodri is Spanish after all. Doubt it he and his family want him to retire in England. If Barca/Real are after him then be sure he would ask for a transfer a la Bernardo. We throw 80-100M at City to soften the blow and job done. Certainly not an impossible transfer.
