Apparently, Scolari is sticking to the same side that won the confederations cup so the only likely change would be Hulk for Ramires.

I really hope his unbelievable stubbornness doesn't come back to haunt Brazil.

I'm guessing since the opponent is the weakest in the group and already out, he is evaluating Fred, Paulinho and possibly Hulk for maybe 45-50 mins and see. Since Paulinho and Fred have been the most criticize in the media, I'm also guessing Scolari doesn't want to ruin either player confidence. In saying that, Scolari pissed me off with this decision to stick with the confederation cup team. It clear for 2 games now that changes need to be done to the starting eleven. The build up is far too slow, the creative burden is fallen on 2 players, Fred is static and immobile, we giving up acres of space b/c of Paulinho.

It reminds me of '06 when Parreira would not drop Cafu, Carlos, Adriano, Emerson and a few others even though they were in horrible form and clearly worn out.

A poor 45 minutes from them today should be the last straw for Scolari. Even, in stubbornness it has to be understood, there is a tournament to be won here.

I don't think he'll drop Paulinho in the 1/8. But we'll see. They're saying they don't care to play well today, just want to win.

Big Phil did what I expected. Gave Paulinho 45 min and sub him off. Fernandinho was far superior offensively and defensively. Hopefully, it's a permanent change. The other dead weight called Hulk needs to be drop.

Yeah, he just can't drop Fernandinho now. Hulk is staying, I can't see Felipao dropping him.

Hulk is arguably the worst Brazilian footballer I have ever seen, worse than Fred and Joe too. I swear, 100% of his actions result in goal kicks or throw-ins for the opposition. Passes, shots, dribbles, it's painful watching him play. What's even more lamentable is Scolari substituting him with Ramires when Willian is made for that role.
