That would be as bad as losing the wc at home, I guess. Brazil is the only nt to have played in all wc's.

I know but for the first time ever I wouldn't be surprised. They just don't seem to care anymore, the motto is to keep recycling the same old pragmatic, stubborn yes men.

4 years to get ready for the next wc, impossible to know what state the nt will be in at that time.

It doesn't help most of the youngsters go abroad before they're fully developed in particular Ukraine or Russia and literally disappear from the radar so to speak. It'll be interesting to see if Dunga introduces youngsters because his last stint he only selected veterans really. There really was no long term planning. Will things change?

I doubt it. I think we'll proably see a resurgence of some names, like Felipe Melo, who was one of his favorites.

To be honest, I don't think going back to "Jogo Bonito" is actually the right the direction either. There must be a balance between being sound defensively and effective offense. Dunga to me is the least of our problems. There needs to be a complete reconstructure from top to bottom. Youth development, tactics, coaching. Improve the state of the Brazil league to be able to keep talent for a little longer. I hate when some 17 or 18 Brazilian youngster goes to some Eastern European club. Also, keeping a better eye on talent not letting the likes of Thiago, Diego Costa or Deco slip through the cracks even though the last 2 were completely out of the blue.

Third party ownership must be curbed or at least restricted if we want to stop seeing talented, young Brazilians moving to Eastern Europe.

True but I also think some of these youngster need to make better decision. It' easy to say from where I'm sitting though. It hard to say no when a boatload of money is being sent your way.

why would you not want them going to europe? they improve by facing better competition. If you look at history all of brazil tops strikers ronaldo, romario, ronaldinho, rivaldo all played in europe and its not just for money, they improve as a player and develop better. Now look at fred, not good enough to play in europe, gets put on the selecao goes out there and proves if you are not good enough for europe you should not be put on selecao. I dont understand the obsession with diego costa at all, he stunk in the wc and was a hypejob.

True that. You never know when your career could end. And for some, you can't just refuse the fat paychecks the Eastern European clubs offer. However, in other cases the agents pressure the players to move because it earns the agent more money. That's just plain wrong.

I didn't say I don't want them to go to Europe. I think the Eastern European route is a death trap for anybody who wants to get called up to the NT though. Brazil seldom ever calls those players.

I would prefer 17/18 years do what a Kaka or Neymar wait till about 21/22 and then move to Europe. I also like to see them start out at decent clubs like a Fiorentina or a Sevilla before moving to a big club like a Rivaldo and Ronaldinho did. It's a bit unrealistic considering how the transfer market is run these days.
