Camp Nou

You know what I mean, the Cruyff stadium.

Yeah, I'm sure Limak will hurry up just for 2 games in May while they have the option to work in peace until August when the new season starts (actually we will return even later probably). No chance we return in May for 2 matches before the end of the season. Even Laporta doesn't belive that, nobody does.

Just go to Cornella if the amateurs didn't book Montjuic.
Don't use that name. I was thinking they are setting some inflatable stadium

It's impossible to know when we'll back considering a lot of it depends on the stadium actually getting the security clearances and licenses.

Could be August. Could be December.

BTW it will be morronic to ask money from Limak now. You get the stadium unfinished and possibly bankruptcy.
If the delays are big (we don't have the contract, at least I don't) they would 100% ask 190 millions.
But it's true Limak was not working with serfs in Turkey and Spain is the land of good life not working hard on deadlines. They for sure underestimated the authorities, overestimated the subcontractors and the Spanish workforce.
Germany is the only country able to work the life out of you. :))

Once they finish the walkway on the VIP rings and the parking it's safe to go there if the works stop.
But they don't concentrate on that in my opinion, they work on many things that are not needed to reopen the stadium that shows there is no clear stage and maybe Laporta just made the whole thing a PR stunt.

At this rate I think late autumn/winter is probably the most realistic timeline. We'll see though.

Maybe work will pick up significantly in the summer.

At some point late this year we'll return to Camp Nou at unfinished capacity. It's not like Nou Mestalla where cactuses grew for 16 years.

Loaning Montjuic is costly and Estadi Cruijff is too small, we're not in COVID times.

I have always wondered why real madrid settled for their 88 k capacity while we seem hellboud on 100k or 105k ? Why vardrid did not extend capacity when they renovated ? What are we missing here

No space to expand
Partly for space reasons, partly because they didn't care to change their stands, because that would have resulted in a much bigger, longer and much more expensive work. Their biggest goal was to build a roof and an underground storage for the pitch so they can use the stadium for all kind of events. Then they just added a new, in my opinion ugly facade to sell the world they have a new stadium.
We on the other hand will truly have a new stadium for the most part. A huge brandnew third stand with 2 VIP rings and a 2 huge underground floors for all kind of activity.

Because they hardly ever sold out the old 81k capacity stadium. Even when they had BBC going all guns blazing they never managed to sell out the stadium even for Classicos or UCL semis and quarter finals.

Attendance was always around the 77k - 79k mark for their biggest games.

The desire is just not there.

I don't think that's the reason here. We also sold out the Camp Nou only during the biggest games of the season, but still increase the capacity. Given that Madrid and Barca sell the tickets for the biggest games for outrages prices like 300-500€, I think it's worth it long term to increase the capacity if only for the biggest games.
