No it's just that I'm not used to you demanding players and managers not born in Buenos Aires/Rosario 😂and Ranieri is not?
Yes, he is more of a tweaker. He makes small changes and motivates the players, plays around a bit and makes simple, but effective alterations. He's one of the greatest when it comes to man management. And this attribute won him a lot of the accolades.
In my mind there's been always this trait about him and I don't mean it to disrespect - he arrives at a club and manages squads assembled by his predecesors. That was the case in AC Milan, where Fatih Terim made the key transfers, got sacked very quickly for a poor run and Carlo reaped the benefits. Similar were Chelsea & Real Madrid after Jose Mourinho and Bayern after Pep.
Football is not about chucking superstars or big names into a team. It's about balance and team chemistry. You know that. You are a smart, knowledgeable guy.2nd in the league
UCL playoffs, rolled over by Milan, Lille and Liverpool
Needed a robbery against Celta and randoms scoring in dying minutes against Leganes to get through in CDR
Embarrassed in Supercopa
With Mbappe, Vinicius, Bellingham, Rodrygo
How do you pull this off? He's crazy
That was more of a banter post tbh. But on a serious note I think this current Madrid squad can do better than 3rd in La Liga and inevitable early UCL elimination. He can balance the team, he even does it for a game or two then randomly makes changes and loses a game. It took him half a season to give Ceballos a chance. He randomly drops Asencio, arguably their best defender, for Alaba, coming back from ACL, against Betis away in a game they eventually lost. He keeps starting Vazquez who's became a joke at this point. Current Madrid squad is complex to manage and I think he's past his time to attempt something such, which is why he is failing.Football is not about chucking superstars or big names into a team.
