Feels like the only thing Xavi watched during his time in Qatar is Spain and reruns of Barca from 2008-2012.
Isn't this a pretty decent enhancement move?
He's a better RCB than Pique, more reliable (doesn't get hurt) and won fuckall in club football in Spain or with the NT so should be motivated to win the league.
Has he ever played with Xaviesta? Looking it up he's basically seems to have only lost that Netherlands game with Van Persie header in 2014 and that's all the time he got before Carvajal took his spot. He's essentially an older experienced player unspoiled by the cunt entitlement.
Adding him means you can try doing 3ATB without having to concede flanks to defensively garbage fullbacks.
Definitely fits Barca more than RM even though there seemed to have been more interest from latter fanbase who are a bit sick off Carvajal barely being there
---------------MATS-----------------
-------Azpi-----Araujo----Garcia---

---------Kessie/Gavi--Nico/Pedri---
-----Ferran--------------Ansu/Pedri

Looks more solid than anything you've played so far this season under either manager.
CMs a bit young and Busquets is unbenchable which probably kills the idea, but in principle this is probably how you should try to line up even if temporary because you can't play 33 yr old Azpi or patchwork with Pique forever. One season of this could put you on solid improvement that allows to attract a star forward/CB (De Ligt?) and a better set of fullbacks in 2023. By then all the midfielders kids will have had 3 seasons under their belt and should be able to start trusting them.
Even 3ATB skeptics on this board have to admit you can't patch all holes in one window and you have two glaring ones on each flank + one huge crater in the centre. Shifting formation and adding a CB while still having 3 other CBs under contract seems ideal.
So Azpi + Kessie on free, binning Dembele + signing a forward for money from MATS or Frenkie + Griezmann & Coutinho isn't a bad plan if that's what Laporta is considering
That + Haaland being more used to a team structure in 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 is an added factor for signing him up
Dest ain't no Hakimi but rest of the team has lots of energy and pretty good on experience.
Don't know where Xavi stands on this but seems worth a punt and if doesn't work you haven't lost anything on signing Azpi for free to at least pretend like there's a runner at RB rather than a rotting corpse of Alves
You guys are out of touch with reality if you do not rate Azpi
He is a vital reason why they rarely concede
Seems like we will get him and that Ajax dude for RB. Not bad for completely free transfers.
Alba and Tagliafico for LB. I'd prefer Gaya, but it is what it is.
I don't even care bruv. I'll take these free transfers all day if it means we spend the entire transfer budget on Haaland.
Yes he was, back in 2015. He is old and done. We are idiots.
Haaland can't play alone. He needs a good team and we have an awful one.
