Cesar Azpilicueta

WTF is this SHIT?

LAPORTA wake up dude!

The guy can't run and play with intensity at his age anymore.
Chelsea are replacing him with younger and better players, and we are giving him a contract AND possibly a starting position?

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

Feels like the only thing Xavi watched during his time in Qatar is Spain and reruns of Barca from 2008-2012.

Yes, there is some weird obsession with the recent Spanish NT by Xavi

Watched them featuring an XI of Garcia, Busi, Pedri, Azpli, Alba, Ferran, Morata, and a few others,
and tries to replicate it as much as possible

that's utterly ridiculous

Isn't this a pretty decent enhancement move?
He's a better RCB than Pique, more reliable (doesn't get hurt) and won fuckall in club football in Spain or with the NT so should be motivated to win the league.
Has he ever played with Xaviesta? Looking it up he's basically seems to have only lost that Netherlands game with Van Persie header in 2014 and that's all the time he got before Carvajal took his spot. He's essentially an older experienced player unspoiled by the cunt entitlement.

Adding him means you can try doing 3ATB without having to concede flanks to defensively garbage fullbacks.
Definitely fits Barca more than RM even though there seemed to have been more interest from latter fanbase who are a bit sick off Carvajal barely being there

---------------MATS-----------------
-------Azpi-----Araujo----Garcia---
Dest/Alves------------Alba/Tagliafico
---------Kessie/Gavi--Nico/Pedri---
-----Ferran--------------Ansu/Pedri
-------------fucking anyone--------

Looks more solid than anything you've played so far this season under either manager.
CMs a bit young and Busquets is unbenchable which probably kills the idea, but in principle this is probably how you should try to line up even if temporary because you can't play 33 yr old Azpi or patchwork with Pique forever. One season of this could put you on solid improvement that allows to attract a star forward/CB (De Ligt?) and a better set of fullbacks in 2023. By then all the midfielders kids will have had 3 seasons under their belt and should be able to start trusting them.

Even 3ATB skeptics on this board have to admit you can't patch all holes in one window and you have two glaring ones on each flank + one huge crater in the centre. Shifting formation and adding a CB while still having 3 other CBs under contract seems ideal.

So Azpi + Kessie on free, binning Dembele + signing a forward for money from MATS or Frenkie + Griezmann & Coutinho isn't a bad plan if that's what Laporta is considering

You guys are out of touch with reality if you do not rate Azpi

He is a vital reason why they rarely concede

He is the kind of player that you need to look at the big picture before judging the signing.
If the team can get rid of some of the current veterans, and get a starting RB & CB, then the guy is great deal.
He is the ultimate 1st option from the bench for defense. Can be great with 3 atb.
You get him to be starting RB, without something warrant such sacrifice (like saving money for Halaand) and it is a head scratcher

That + Haaland being more used to a team structure in 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 is an added factor for signing him up
Dest ain't no Hakimi but rest of the team has lots of energy and pretty good on experience.

Don't know where Xavi stands on this but seems worth a punt and if doesn't work you haven't lost anything on signing Azpi for free to at least pretend like there's a runner at RB rather than a rotting corpse of Alves

The formation you draw ain't happening, and you know it.

As long as Xavi is around, we will play with a single pivot, and this one will always be Busi.
Pique also will NEVER exit the first XI
Alba will NEVER exist the first XI
Azpli will be right FB and not RCB, and that's to give a rest to Dani
Oh, and I forgot fuck'n 2nd tier Morata being our striker
That's for starters

I don't know where Kessie fits, probably serving his role from the bench : excusing Xavi that is from having to justify leaving a major investment (Frenkie) on the bench

It's getting gloomier and gloomier.
Good times to be a RM fan
Good for you

Self pity... eeh
I feel you I guess but it aint good for you. Just gotta turn on Xavi if becomes obvious he's got a blind spot he doesn't want to get rid of no matter who comes in to improve the side.

Azpi deal isn't a problem here. Even if ultimately plays RB despite being a bit finished in attack. It's still an improvement and got more pressing places to spend money.
Both he and Kessie could be coming from trophy winning teams (Chelski well in on another CL even if lose league, Kessie could win Serie A and Ivory Coast playing great in CAF currently where he's a standout), which is also a good sign and something Barca have not been doing very much. As for Kessie himself, could play RCM or 2nd pivot. Wherever plays, seems a good addition and an athletic player far as I gather

I dont completely buy Morata rumors either.
Far too much money getting readied for summer to even bother bringing him in now.
But even if he's to come on something like a loan with option to buy in summer if Haaland chooses another team, it's not the worst.

Seems like we will get him and that Ajax dude for RB. Not bad for completely free transfers.

Alba and Tagliafico for LB. I'd prefer Gaya, but it is what it is.

I don't even care bruv. I'll take these free transfers all day if it means we spend the entire transfer budget on Haaland.

He can be a Nacho for us. Can cover the whole back line as well as provide some winning mentality. After all he won CL more recently than anyone in the squad.

Like been said, if looking at the big picture he's a good signing. Can get rid of Mingueza plus someone else thanks to Azpi.
2+1 year contract and we're good to go.

Yes he was, back in 2015. He is old and done. We are idiots.

Haaland can't play alone. He needs a good team and we have an awful one.

It takes one world beater to become competitive. Teams not pushing us that far because we can hurt them in no time. All in on haaland, if we cant bring him then go low profile
